Sunday 19 Jan 2020 - Reverse full coast

Sounds fine Darryl. We will go the road to Kilbirnie. That's the only track piece. This allows the wind to push us up the coast. Greg. -

Midweek canter Wednesday 15 th 9.30 am

Won't make this ride today now chaps! I'll aim for a jolly on Friday! Enjoy! -
Good evening all. We, the Johnstone Wheelers, are in the very fortunate position to be one of the only clubs in Scotland to have a purpose built clubroom, owned and operated solely by us! So, why aren't we using this MORE? I'm proposing we hold a big Summer BBQ at the clubhouse on the 16 Aug 2020 to round of the summer. This is open to all, members, family and children. A small fee would be payed in order to buy food and possibly some soft drinks. If you want a few beers BYOB. A short turbo challenge and a raffle would also be held. This event would follow a short full club run. So, the question is, who's in? And who's interested?

Full reverse coast run this Sunday. Weather looks good, a little cold a d a favourable wind to ride north. 0930 at the clubhouse. Clubhouse - track to Kilbirnie - Dalry - WEST Kilbride - Bagel basket - coast round to Clune. Should be around 70 miles, regular main bunch pace, no man left behind. Strava route to follow.

Sun 12 Jan 2020 - Tour De Troon
gregbalden replied to gregbalden's topic in Sunday Run - Faster / Longer Bunch
8 men arrived at the clubhouse for the tour de Troon. Alan T, Alan McL, Tommy, James, Eric, David C, Iain C and myself. Two departed at Stewarton, Eric and David with the remaining 6 carrying on until Troon. A good return leg with cross/tail wind and rain. 60 steady winter miles in the bag. A prime example of main bunch riding. -
Brutally honest, sadly true. Ill be back next weds for more. Thanks all.

Route should generally follow this. 60 miles. Bail out options at Stewarton for Intermediate bunch. https://www.strava.com/routes/23282436 Ride Captain to allow general variation, I personally do not know this route particularly well. -
0930h clubrooms start Ride captain required for route and discipline. Weather looks reasonable at this stage. ** Contingency plan is coastal variation ** Whos in?

Yeah I'll be out Charlie, I'll return via haylie, Greg.

As previously posted in other posts....the revival of bunch rides is in advanced stages. Inspiration required! Can I ask please that you tell me your favourite long ride. The usual format of the starting point, a few points of interest which hint towards the route. Clubhouse - Georgetown - bridge - Helensburgh - Kilcreggan ( via high Road) - Glen fruin to return. If you can slot in a short cut or " bail out" do tell. Ill plan to plan and map a few over the coming weeks. Kind Regards!

Working unfortunately. Enjoy!

Cracking ride indeed. Thanks all.

gregbalden replied to GlenIrving's topic in Sunday Run - Faster / Longer Bunch
Cracking run today. 5 bodies out, Colin, Davie B, Anthony, Iain C and myself. Sewing bee route taken, good pace and good company. Davie B peeled off at peesweep, and Iain C at Kilbarchan. The remaining 3 went to Bernies for a quick coffee. Unfortunately a puncture at Linwood for myself however mid repair the legendary Mike rolled past and stopped for a quick chat. 42 miles all in. Thanks folks. More of the same soon please!! -

Sounds good Glen, I have until 1330 latest. Possibly - clubrooms, G town, bishy, West ferry, Langbank, 3 amigos, Kilmacolm, Lochwinnoch via Johnshill, cafe in Lochwinnoch, track home? Short and sharp. Open to any other options. Greg. -

Folks, Myself, Stuart and Lorne are planning a ride in the direction of Helensburgh. Ill probably peel off at Sinclair St, however I believe there is appetite for Glen fruin. 9am clubrooms all welcome. Regular pace, habble at the known habble points. This is a direct substitute for Turbo.
