  1. 18:45 meet, 19:00 start Westferry 10 miles Meet at the car park at the bottom of Bishopton hill, just off the M8/A8. Start is under the railway bridge, down onto the roundabout, up the slip road, along the A8 through Langbank roundabout, Woodhall Roundabout, turn at the roundabout on the A8 at the bottom of the Clune and return the same way, coming off the slip road for Bishopton before the road becomes the M8
  2. Great work Ian, you certainly looked comfortable all the way near the front of the group! Great sprint finish too I could certainly have done with a less intensive rave than the Cat 2/3 one!! Your week 1 report sounds very familiar to me, I got a great start in the front few for the first corner then it was backwards all the way, further back every corner then pop out the back door! Lonie's attack on lap 1 did my cause no favours either
  3. HR for the first few and longer ones this year 169-170, 173-176 in the last week for the tens Cadence I had been sitting 90-107 earlier in the season, I've been experimenting and have been in the low 80's to 90's the last couple, depends on le parcour
  4. Great Jann! Weather looking good so I'll come along for 5th 10 in 10 days
  5. Thanks Alan! Yes Iain, it was a 20:44 which is 11 seconds off my PB from 2 weeks ago, the course just suits my power profile really well being reasonably flat and in a straight line! Will really need to get a power meter some time soon as that's how everyone else rides it, I just go off heart rate and cadence (which I have really been experimenting with over the last few 10's). It was a steady ride and I didn't think it was fast until about 2 minutes to go, I still find it hard to judge where I am on that course, it just all looks the same! I was still fairly battered after Wednesday night on the A77, that is a tough course, and yesterday was my fourth 10 in 8 days. I think the thing that really made the difference was a good 1hour warm up, getting there early, and being in a good organised routine! It sounds utterly daft, and it's the simple things, but having a pop-up gazebo has also made things much more comfortable for getting ready and warming up in, I had 3 of the top 7 riders over begging a shot for their warm ups too! Thanks for all the nice comments and encouragement, it does make a difference, hopefully there's plenty more good riding still to come, I'm looking forward to a float night on the Westferry

  7. Thanks very much everyone, it means a lot!
  8. The kilo's not that bad compared to a 3 or 4k pursuit!
  9. Pretty good turnout, well done everyone! Thanks to Iain and Alan T for their efforts
  10. Can all riders wishing to be considered for confined event leagues, such as the League of 10 or the Chocolate series please let me know their personal best times for a 10mile TT within the last 3 years 2011-2013, (i.e. - prior to this season). If you don't have a 10m time, then can you please let me know your best time for the Georgetown in the last 3 years. Please PM me with times. Thanks, Alan

Thanks Billy! Not the best of days, off very early and a messed up prep with only 15 minutes warmup led to a slower than anticipated time, but still a Westferry PB by 1 second. Rider of the day by a mile was Chris Smart, 20:07, nearly in the 19's in those conditions!

My application to enter was accepted weeks ago, no confirmation of actual acceptance of entry yet
  14. Last one on the Georgetown for a wee while, 6:45ish start to allow for late arrivals and mesh with our friends from ze Velo Who's in, who's timekeeping? I won't make it due to parent's night
  15. Iain, did you read my race plan?
  16. Quite happy with a PB today, 20:55, joint 6th overall on a slightly windy and chilly morning. 30seconds behind Ben who won it, 24s off Iain Grant and Peter Murdoch
  17. Probably not in that weather, I'd settle for a very low 21
  18. First "proper" 10 if the year tomorrow at Eggy Park, should be fun!
  19. Aww, don't worry iain, most of the fast guys are in front of you! Only me and Iain Grant behind you
  20. Apart from the various random crashes it was a great wee night of racing! Flying 200's to start, PB's all round for the Johnstone seniors, took 0.2 off mine for a 12.71 but got beaten into 4th overall by Richard on a 12.60 12 lap scratch to start, got beaten by Andy Brown by a foot in the final sprint after Richard giving us a nice tow for a couple up to the last lap. Kierin next which I won after a 2 lap lead out from Andy and sprint past with Lewis Stewart from the Riderz hot on the heels. Next up 2 rounds of Italian Pursuit, 4 teams of 6/7, semi finals then A and B finals. Somehow ended up in a team with Andy Brown and we nearly made the catch in both races, great fun! Last race of the night was a devil, after some floating about in the middle of the pack came over the top and adopted my favourite position on the red line second man up the track, we got down to the last 3 and I managed to hold it out front for a win. Overall a fun night and feeling strong, hopefully the numbers will be higher for next time, we wheelers managed to make up a quarter of the field!
  21. Get well soon iain, it looked a sore one!
  22. Putting it into perspective, I'm still gubbed today! Only got the three races this week too Looked at the Gordon Arms 20.5m TT results, Stuart beat me by 4.5mins brought down to 1min, Gary by 3mins down to 14secs, Jon Clarke beat me by 22secs, beat him by 3.5mins. Moral of the story? Go faster in the Gordon Arms next year!!
