Wanted - Old Road wheels or Rims
chung replied to chung's topic in Wheels'n'Deals - For Sale & Wanted
Hi Colin, That's great. Thanks very much. Are you doing the Georgetown TT tomorrow night? If so, I will try and come along to your house afterward to pick it up if that's o.k with you? Thanks again Cheers Chung -
Hi All, Does anyone have any old road wheels or rims lying about in there garage, shed, bicycle warehouse etc that they don't need or want? I need a couple to use for stretching some tubs that I have, apparently you need to stretch and season them before you use them. It doesn't even have to have spoke or completely true, clinchers are fine. Just need to be 700 road wheel size. Many thanks in advance. Cheers Chung

Many thanks to Tony for the run yesterday, first time cycling in this beautiful part of the country, especially when the sun came out later on. Brilliant! Cheers Chung
-
Hi Greg, Bit confused here, do you mean Friday 11th or Sunday the 13th? If you mean Sunday the 13th, why not join us at the Ayr to Newton Stewart ride? If you mean the Friday 11th, then no can do. Have a good one anyway! Good to hear you're back on the road again. Take care out there! Cheers Chung

Hi Kenny Count me in. Will head up on the morning. Cheers Chung

Hi Colin, Your account of the route (and your memory) is much more accurate than mine. You are right, we did went through Balloch. Sorry Like yo said, we'll go as far as the Glen Fruin and drop back down to Helensborough and head home via that way. Paul, your company is more than welcome! Say, 10am at the South side of the bridge? Cheers Chung
-
Hi all, I would like to do the route, It's a cracker like Colin said with some spectacular scenery. However, I'm a bit push for time, so I'll cut short the route (sorry Colin) and go as far as Glen Fruin (with a bit of a climb) which I'll go over and drop back to Ballach and head home. Just want to double check with you Colin, are you going through Helensborough to Glen Fruin? Because you put down Balloch, isn't this route the exact same one we did 2 years again, where we went trough Helensborough and had a cafe stop in Luss? Just want to make sure. I'll probably meet everyone south side of the bridge (weather dependent of course) and do the shorter route, have to be back before 2pm. Sorry Colin, didn't mean to hijack your post. Cheers Chung

Hi Tom, It's Chung here, mind if I catch a lift off you? Cheers Chung

Hi all, O.K, see you all at the clubroom 8.30am. Neil, care to joining us? What about you DavieB (I take it you are David from Beith? right?) able to join us? Any more takers? Cheers Chung
-
Hi Charlie, I'll go with that. Are you ok with that Richard? Charlie, can you text me your mobile please. Cheers Chung
-
Hi Charlie, Thanks for you offer, but I think I'll start from the clubroom 8.30am or 9.00am with Richard and anybody who cares to come along. Have a good one, Charlie, and will see you in 2 weeks time. Cheers Chung
-
Hi charlie, that's a very good suggestion, I would welcome that. But what about richard? Anyway, are you guys heading to largs? If you guys are not, then I would go with richard at a later time and head from clubroom to millport. Thanks for the offer though! Cheers My mobile is 079033 56730 charlie, what's yours? Chung
-
No problem, Richard. We can decide on the final start time tomorrow, depending on how many takers there is for the 8.30am start. Ian, are any of you guys planning on cycling down to Largs? Cheers Chung
-
Hi all, Can we have a show of hands for 8am or 9am, what about 8.30am? Can you do 8.30am, Richard? Are you all intending to go over to Millport, even the preferred 8am bunch? Cheers Chung
-
Hi Neil, Where you thinking of heading over to Millport? or just Largs? (You might struggle to make it back home for 12noon if you are heading over to Millport even with 8am start, I think the TT start at 11am) If most folks want to start around 8am, I'm fine with that, just need to confirm. Cheers Chung
-
Hi All, Charlie, 8am is a bit too early for me. But I'll go with the majority. Ian McG, are you down for the TT? Anyone else? How about meeting at the clubroom at 9am, and cycle down to Largs, ferry over to Millport and give the Wheelers a bit of road side encouragement. Then cycle back via the B. Glen or Hailie after a spot of lunch. Then again, we can do something entirely different, open to suggestion. This of course all depends on what the weather is like for me personally Any takers? Cheers Chung
-
Hi Tony, I should be able to come along too. Hope he weather will be kind. Cheers Chung
-
That was certainly a great day out for a club run. It has been a while since we had one like today, great route, brilliant company and smashing weather, who needs Majorca when you have days like this. Thanks to Ramsay for coming up with the initial idea and lets have more of the same. Cheers Chung

Hi Jan, Try tightening (but don't over do it) the star-nut on top of your fork first before you completely tighten the stem bolts to the fork. This will make sure your forks bearings are firm & compressed properly without any play, which I suspect is whats happening. Try it and see how you get on. Regards Chung
-
Hi, I should be able to make this one. I'll take the softie option and drive down. See you all 10am at the ferry. Cheers Chung
-
Kenny, Would the 3 ferries be - Wemyss Bay to Rothsey, cycle to Colintraive for ferry then round pass Strucur, and back to Dunoon for ferry to Gourock? If so, then I'm in, providing weather is OK that is. Cheers Chung
-
Hi Billy, I should be able to make this one. But can I suggest we go for the 10.00am ferry, cause it's a little too early at 9.30am. Billy, and all those who are doing the Drumlandrig, enjoy the ride and hope the weather is kind to you on the day. Cheers Chung
