DOGS LOOSE , suggestions of the merits of a lead were gratefully accepted 6. BOW AND ARROWS!! Personal favourite was the bow and arrows. Glad to be back on the bike but the hills seem to be much steeper this year or the bike and rider combination is 10kg heavier. Hmmm, bike is unchanged. see you in a fortnight hopefully duncan
  7. actually cycled the whole way back from Greenock, that's about my limit at the moment duncan
  8. Decided this morning was a good idea to cycle and finally get off enlarging backside Halfway to Greenock on back road from Kilmacolm, road started to get a bit icy, actually very icy- started running along side of road. White van came up behind me at speed, I pulled off road to allow him past. Driver slows down and offered me a lift, bike thorwn into back of pick up truck and rather quicker, and warmer journey to the Strone. So big cheers to the white van man Duncan
  9. will watch out of the window at inverlyde hospital at 10ish as you fly past in a well controlled peleton in the colours of the joansin. shame I have to work, have a good run and carbo load afterwards. Remember, it is dehydration that is the killer...get the beers in! Duncan

  15. memo: if daryl suggests going in the first group- take it! Good evening and a fast frist lap until I was dropped for the second time after the horse caused a gap to open, no way back.. Never mind, give it a time trial effort and see what happens. Second lap enjoying the view rather than someones backside then past a waving Kenny MacD, by the time I had turned round he had gone. Reversed the course and joined the chasing group for faster return than I was making alone. Enjoyed it but hard work. holiday next week hopefully be out later in july cheers duncan

  18. treasured memory of the day: in awful weather with serious downhill run to go (and 2 major climbs and 80k still to go) foraging englishman searching for bin liner in lampost attached rubbish bin. Classic. And yes, it was defintely Alan, described later in hotel as Chirpy Scot. The main reason is that he was going so slowly, for him, that hte had loads of energy in reserve unlike the rest of us! Of course, he did almost break his hip at the bealach, heaven knows how fast he would have been otherwise. Alan, thanks for keeping us company at our pedestrian pace. Where's the pictures then? Duncan
  19. Colin, thats a maybe, we get back from holiday that weekend, not sure if an early finish will go down all that well. Will try negotiations... Duncan
