  1. Sorry this is late. Is there any chance of making this a half 9 start chaps? I've got a mate getting the train from Glasgow to come out with a bunch for the 1st time.
  2. Phil, you won't be the only one out the back when it startstarts going up
  3. I found changing my cassette to a 29 tooth helped a wee bit. I didn't change to compact to keep the balance right for TTing.
  4. I work in the RAH and know of a good sports physio that does some private work. I'll get his number on Wednesday when I'm back in.
  5. What events Chris Hoy is doing at the olympics? I'm "applying" for tickets this week.
  6. Big thanks to everyone who organised Sunday & those that brought along all the food. I had a great day out & great to see so many folk in club colours.
  7. Long shot but if KennyS reads this coulcould you bring any spare bib longs with you? Or could someone text him please?
  8. Thanks Paul. As far as i know there are 2 groups doing the 77 miles. I think i'll start off with you guys and if i get dropped i'll just wait for the 2nd group to come along.
  9. What I would say is. If you're new to the club &/or the Don Smith & want to go with the 9am then give it a try. It's a social run. If you don't feel strong enough to take your turn on the front then nobody is going to hate you for it. It's good experience. 9 times out of 10 there will be someone willing to drop out and stick with any first timers that may drop out. You never know, you may be surprised at how long you can go before getting dropped if the bunch is big enough. EDIT: That being said if you've never been out on a Saturday run with PMcD et alal then be prepared for some pain, in a good way of course.
  10. I've got these pedals. Love them. Can't recommend enough.
  11. Billy, The only lumpy bit is just out of Bishopton if I read the map correct. Then flat all the way round the coast. I'm expecting to be dropped at some point as is Richard (I think) & (I hope he doesn't mind me saying) so there'll be at least 3. Is this your 1st time on the Don Smith?
  12. I'm going for the long run but prepared to finish off solo if i get dropped. So could maybe team up with Richard et al if the going gets tough.
  13. I currently have a carbon stem and alu bars in 26mm guise. I'm quite ignorant when it comes to the pros and cons of having oversized as opposed to normal sized bars and stem. Could some kind soul explain the pros and cons of having oversized as opposed to normal sized components and and the pros and cons of carbon over aluminium and vice versa please?
  14. Please sir. May i be excused from the mudguard amnesty for the Don Smith? (weather permitting of course)
  15. Sounds like a great day out. I would have thought that was more than 88 miles as well. Chapeau.
  16. Still for sale. Willing to come to some sort of arrangement with a club member RE payment.
  17. YES PLEASE!!! No more 2 hour drives to get to good quality trails. I'll answer the questions later.
  18. Either GORE windstopper gloves to stop the windchill effect. Remember if it's zero degrees and your travelling at say 15mph the effective temperature is around -10. Or, you can get gloves with wee pouches for heat pads from any good outdoor shop.
  19. Mr Montague in full club kit going solo on the road between Glen Fruin and the A82. Looking a bit tired, i'm sure it was the wind though eh?
