  1. Ramsay See you then. Here is my mobile no. for info - 07939 733146. PMcD
  2. Yip, sounds good. How about I meet you in Beith ( town centre at 'The Saracen? ) at 8am and we do a run round Galston and Darvel which takes about 3.5 hours with a couple of 'challenging' hills and a few 'interesting' ones? PMcD
  3. Well done Kerry and Frank PMcD
  4. Concern was raised this afternoon by a member of the public on the Dunoon ferry who witnessed a group of 6 cyclists laughing, joking and muttering incoherently about a blueberry muffin. The 6 had left their Renfrewshire homes shortly after dawn and rode bicycles to Dunoon under the wrath of the winter skies which threw all manner of precipitation at them. A flash poll at the top of the Rest revealed that between them they had 17 and a 1/2 numb body parts. Whilst waiting for the ferry one of the group appeared to have a high frequency vibrating mechanism under his bottom as his legs and hips were gyrating uncontrollably. The 6, otherwise fit and healthy men cannot be named for legal reasons and have no previous record of insanity. The case has been deferred for a month whilst background reports are prepared (this could be a concern for some of the group who have previous history of extreme behaviour)
  5. Plan to be there as long as the snow has not commenced, it is forecast for late morning Howie - you going by any chance - to team up for ride out ? PMcD
  6. Not doing this one. Away to Newcastle for a stag night
  7. Bring it on Jim - I'll be in touch about travel PMcD
  8. Alan Was good to see you today - pity you couldn't join us for longer, as, despite the rain and headwind all the way up the coast we had a really excellent run (seriously) which seemd to be enjoyed by all ( except maybe one who was on a bad day which was maybe just as well for the rest of us ! ) hope to see you next week at the Super6. PMcD
  9. Diito, subject to there not being a hail event like there was 10 minutes ago
  10. Just wondered if anyone knew whether the Renfrew bogs 10am 'alternative to Anniesland' bunch were reconvening this week after the Alicante jaunt ? danke PMcD
  11. Thanks Ian, your a gent. Enjoy the run everyone, weather looks excellent for mid Feb. PMcD
  12. Jim I had an 11th hour, 59th minute change of plan this morning (9.25am to be precise) and ended up out with the anniesland rip your legs off bunch Therefore, for both domestic and physical capability reasons I will not be out with the 10am Sunday I was looking forward to witnessing the 'single speed supremo' as well. Ian Manson - If you read this - could I ask a favour that you post my licence as I will not now be at clubrooms tomorrow. PMcD
  13. Darryl Anniesland was calmer last week in terms of numbers but not pace. This was due to a large contingent being in Alicante - the clones, stevie, black bob etc. They are still away this week so numbers should be down a bit. About 30 last Saturday. PMcD
  14. Jim My question about time referred to the time for the last bunch doing the reliability run ! So it looks like 10am then. cheers PMcD
  15. Just wondered if there was a 9.30am group again on Sunday? Also for info - if anyone has an update it might warrant a minor route change - last Saturday there were roadworks on the dual carriageway from Dumbarton to Bowling restricting the 2 lanes to 1. There were massive tailbacks. PMcD
  16. Alan I think the bottom line is that the organiser is constrained by regulations that specify the prioity for entrants. This will obviously be very frustrating for people (I might be one) who entered when there were only about 30 entrants and end up shuffled out. All you can do is await the result of the selection process. PMcD
  17. For anyone planning to join the Anniesland bunch on Sat I will be parking my car at usual spot this side of bridge just after 10am. PMcD
  18. Can anyone confirm start time tonight ! I think I read somewhere it was 7pm sharp ? thanks PMcD
  19. Yip I'm up for this one. Looking forward to it already. I reckon there will be a very big field as there is a lot of support for this initiative reading the braveheart site and talking to the guys. PMcD
  20. I'll add a pair of medium mitts please to up the numbers towards 50
  21. Pair of size 4 bib shorts please thanks PMcD
  22. Alan The masters race is a 72 mile road race on the old A77 / Stewarton-Thornliebank road. It is 4 laps of a rolling circuit finishing at the top of the Eaglesham moor, it is not closed roads but they are quiet and the race is well marshalled. Last year had a very strong field - best vets in Scotland and quite a few from England as well. cheers PMcD
  23. Alan and Jim In broad terms my plan is As many TLI road races as practical given the prioities below, 2 or 3 of the SCU super six events, British Masters vets race at Eaglesham SCU vets national RR in August It is also subject to working around various rowing regatta's where I am the official boat carrier. Good luck for the New Years day race in Edinburgh Alan. Unlike Jim I do not have a massive back up team to consult - I only consult with one person regarding my calendar - female, about 40, you can guess who. PMcD
  24. Darryl Read this after replying to your pm ! Once you see the pm we'll take it from there. You missed a good one Stevie and I missed my motor pacer. So I opted for some hill work and did the Loch Thom to Largs then along to Ardrossan etc. And all on me own - it was a belter. See how you are on Boxing Day. PMcD
  25. I have to admit I wimped out today when I went out in and met zero degress and icy rain - so it was turbo torture ! Anyway - I was planning to start the holiday coast runs on Monday morning, 9am Bulls Garage. These runs are normally me, Darryl, Stevie B, maybe Black Bob and one or two others - might not be many on Monday cause I didn't see anyone today. Anyone is welcome to join us. Pace is 'lively steady' tempo round to Largs or W Kilbride, a wee habble up the hill if you so desire, then regroup and ride back in. Or something similar. About 50-60 miles. Can you post on here if you plan to be there. Merry Christmas PMcD
