  1. same song, same guitar hero pose, slightly different lyrics, who cares...
  2. I can be your hero (Enrique Iglesias, performed by Scott Dondaldson) Two drifters, off to see the world There’s such a lot of world to see We’re after that same rainbow’s end, waitin’ ’round the bend My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me (Louis Armstrong, performed by Simon Simpson and Scott Donaldson) Here I go again on my own goin' down the only road I've ever known. Like a hobo I was born to walk alone. An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time but here I go again, here I go again, here I go again, here I go. (Whitesnake, performed by Simon Simpson) The list goes on. Should we cancel the ceilidh band and have a karaoke presentation dance this year?
  3. Frank I remember my first game of fives! the important thing to remember is that cycling uses different muscles from football! So when you get on the bike tomorrow you won't feel a thing, really. go on, you know you want to!
  4. Time doesn't allow me to join the tour of trossachs team rooms being planned by the later risers , so count me in too. 12-25ti cassette now fitted to replace last week's semi automatic effort , hopefully a quieter day to be had. see you chaps at 9:00.
  5. And more, if I've got the hang of this interweb thing http://www.flickr.com/photos/16900125@N03/with/1803951787/
  6. Cheque in the post today, Darryl What's the route likely to be? cheers M
  7. Guilty as charged, although I'd just like to point out that I was there 'till the end this year. Even witnessed a bar closing for once. That's an improvement on last year. Hope the coffee pot got home safely Dougie. The subsequent taxi experience and the 2:30am trip to Asda in search of scoff was definitely one of the more surreal moments of the weekend. Based on that experience, don't ever send Kenny Steele and Marco VW for the messages. Unless you like chicken. A lot. Back to the important stuff, a great event. Well organised & marshalled ride, over back roads that would certainly feature on Kenny Mac's farmwatch. As Alan says, Lewis came away with some goodies too. We were lined up behind Alan Peiper at the start, and when he saw the wee man's Tmobile TCR he dug into his pocket and presented him with his Tmobile oppy cap. He also came looking for him after the ride with a team bidon and happily posed for photies. Have to report the hat only left the head to go to school today. He's even wearing it in bed! Roll on the next one. Lewis is going for 45 next year.
  8. Just go to Mac's bar opposite the castle and wait for the bunch there. That way it doesn't matter what time they arrive.
  9. I'm suspicious. Their website says 9630 feet of climbing (and I've been telling people that all year), but in an idle moment I put the route into mapmyride (http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-kingdom/kinlochewe/715829929) and it says it's only an easy 5350ft. Should I ask for my money back? Anyone taking a GPS with them this year to settle it?

    Bike names

No more, no more. The health and safety people have done away with that, and the modern chopper now has a handlebar twist grip gear change. But does anyone remember a version of the Chopper with drop handlebars? Now we are talking dumb. Or was that just a Dundee special?
  11. Anyone up for the BH ride? I've registed for the 20 miler with young Lewis as my lead out man. Give him his first taste of a bunch run in the Ayrshire rain....
  12. Dougie do you think we could auction that jersey again and get our money back? Are you up for going? need to move fast if we want tickets....
  13. count me in for the 24th too. I've been in training.
  14. Hey Dougie if you're still unsure of today's route you can get a reminder here. http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-kingdom/paisley/712475843 (this is from the cheap alternative to GPS systems - since they're not selling them in Hyperdales yet I'll be using this for the forseeable future) BTW it says we did 1682 feet of climbing but only 1670 feet of descent. I knew I was being cheated somehow...) cheers M
  15. too busy thinking about the £1.50 chickens to notice. How much did they want for it?
  16. surely as one of the wee-est club members it has to be "dougie cervelo so-low-ist"?
  17. > Right then, should we have a sweepie? The last 5 new members on the bunch are: Maxturbogoo (interests include diet pills and vitamin c injections ) Bobbyorion (medicine and golf) happy52 (not interested in anything) and ThomasXMMZ (who is interested in "doing shizzle" ) Think any of them sound like doogie?
  18. Good run on Sunday with reasonable weather for the time of year Found this site today - map my ride. Cheap alternative for those of us without GPS devices. lets you plot where you've been on a map and tells you elevation etc. have a look at sunday's route: http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-kingdom/johnstone/580493765 Kenny Steele - this could be a good way to publicise the Erskine route, no?
  19. Pure class in a glass!!!! Well done Kenny. You're wasted on a Saturday night, sorry I meant on lift engineering. A career in journalism can't be far off. Roll on next year!
  20. there is a rumour that big yeoman is coming out of retirement this weekend. apparently he's even been training...
  21. I'll be there sounds like fun. cheers m
  22. Hi Kenny(s) can I pt my dabs on one of the training tops please? Can't make it along tonight: running a bike skills evening (no laughing at the back) for the local cub pack. When's the next chance to get one? M
  23. Any more takers? JohnA? Howie? Jim will your mate Colin be back for another go?
