  1. * Scouse accent * (no offence to Scousers) CALM DOWN CALM DOWN. Chung is correct, no Star nut in a carbon steerer Iain and Park make a snazzy saw guide. Pipe Cutter no use as carbon destroys the blade. Put insulting tape around steerer (stops splintering) and use 32t hacksaw blade. Finish off edge with a fine file. Measure 10 times (this induces sweaty top lip) and cut once. good luck

  11. come in and see us at Dooleys Cycles 40 Moss st Paisley..we have a couple of nice 2nd hand bikes that may interest you. cheers
  12. i'd advise against crank bros for mtb'ing as release angle is too extreme if you need out quick! 15 or 20 degrees dependant on which way round you put shoe plates. stick with spuds and use your brakes on those "fast" descents.
  13. layers layers layers. base-long or short sleeve. bib shorts bib tights wind proof @knees a minimum short sleeve long sleeve- winter weight gilet (most are water repellant) cape in back pocket for emergencies thicker socks/slacker shoes skull cap under bunnet overshoes seal skin gloves(bees knees) you can alter zips for heat management. all of the above MUST be all your old gear coz thats what winters for innit? especially on mtb in winter! have fun
  14. not the savage course you did last year . the circuits around gifford were increased and it finished up redstanerig. the big loop was lopped off. still have nightmares lol!

    Cadence

touble with riding fixed imho is that you are in the wrong gear 95% of the ride. if you are looking to increase your cadence either use your clubs rollers or purrchase some of your own and fly those cranks round. do it regularly and you'll find after a while you will be spinning faster. can opener and worms
  17. ps..i'm sure those minature binocular shaped thingy's are spacers for underneath the arm rests. cant remember if they supply 2 sets of spacers of differing heights. you would then fit the ones that suit your position/style. cheers
  18. you use 2 shims per bar clamp in order to reduce from 31.8 down to 26mm. on the inside of each of the clamps there is a small locating hole for the shms. on each of the shims there is a small protrusion which fits into said holes being an octopus also helps when attemting to hold shims in place and clamp onto to the handlebars. have fun cheers jed clampit
  19. hi Dennis i'll keep an eye out for you's. a possee of us Lanark lady boys are doing big miles tomorrow. have a good one. cheers paul.

  21. well reported guys...absolutely savage would describe the "hilly" section. i was found out on the first lift after having to sprint on after the bottle neck at gifford. passed pleasantries with paul at the side of the rd thinking to myself"i'll go to the top check the view and get paul back in the rd. . arriving at the marshalls i enquired which was the quickest way home....one of the sniggering marshalls said" straight on"...LIAR!! if i'd known what was in front of me i'd have packed too paul..i'd no option but to ride round the loop as i'd no idea where i was. only medal i deserve is for stupidity...silly old fool that i am. see you's at rothesay.
