2023 Subscriptions thejanullrichdietplan Posted February 28, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 28, 2017 Gravel racing is a big thing in the US these days and one of the biggest events is the Grinduro which is a combination of gravel racing and mountain bike style enduro. It seems they will be hosting a race outside the US this year and it will be in Arran. Basically there are 4 timed stages, in the middle of a longer ride. Each timed stage varies - fireroad climb, fireroad descent, a road stage and a singletrack stage so it rewards different types of fitness / skills (and choice of bike) - you'll save time on the singletrack and descent on a mountain bike, but the road and climb will be quickest on a cx Anyway here is the website, not much details about the Arran event yet https://grinduro.com/ Here are some photos from the Californian one here http://theradavist.com/2016/10/soakin-in-sierra-nevada-at-giros-grinduro P McDonald

DavieB
Paul, The 3-Peaks would look better on your palmares. Extra points for completing it with canti's where the descent off Pen-y-Ghent will be scarier than the "Big Wan" at Blackpool pleasure beach.... 2023 Subscriptions thejanullrichdietplan Posted March 21, 2017 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted March 21, 2017 Open for entry now and quite steep at £150 (although that also includes camping, entertainment and food) Not sure if i'll enter (not got a suitable bike yet) but the trails and forest roads look pretty good in the video so if i dont do it as part of this would be up for a DIY version with the club at some point
