Members Richard
I could give you an old tyre, Ian, but they do make a bloody mess. It sounds like you're after something turbo-specific anyway. Let me know.
2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted February 6, 2013 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 6, 2013 Ricardo, just set up the turbo in the front room for the 1st time last night with an old tyre on it, what a mess indeed , wife went nuts, a million wee black rubber dots stuck on the freshly painted white walls, not a good look, not to mention the carpet, and my bike..... Members Richard
Ha-ha! You sometimes get the shower of rubber particles the first time you use a turbo-specific tyre, but they tend to be granular and less sticky - hooverable in other words. 2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted February 7, 2013 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted February 7, 2013 I must be doing it wrong! I'm not sure I've ever seen any wee rubber blobs when turboing and I have never used a turbo specific tyre.
Members Richard
Maybe some turbos are more prone to this problem than others. Mine is practically an antique. It has a really heavy metal roller than gets red hot and melts the tyre (if it's a normal road tyre.) To try and cut down on the mess, I used to sellotape sheets of newspaper to the wall behind the bike.
