I was in scratch group (5th) and as the race was only 36 miles it was an immediate through and off. We caught the 4th group after about 20 miles which made a group of about 20. As can often happen the group was too big to be cohesive and there were tired legs by this point (mine for example) so it became a bit stop start. End result was we never caught the other groups and a guy from group 3 won. I got dropped from a lead group of 6 or 7 in our wee bunch who romped upwards the last time up the climb with 5 miles to go. Just for those who know the circuit - the 2nd and 3rd time up the Drumclog climb was a big ring job - I think this is what rubbered my legs!
