Dumfries Success for Jets

A good turnout from the Jets today as the Skinny Tyres Series met the South West Scotland Series met the Dumfries Crit.

The venue was The Crichton Campus which spends its time during the week as a campus for I lost count of how many Unis. Reminded me a bit of Quarriers village in terms of it's layout

Anyway, to the racing. The Jets were represented by Lewis S in the U8 race (which went off with the U10's as well), Morgan B and Lusia S in the U12's, Euan H, Katie McL and Alana S in teh U14's and Josh McL in the U16's

Constant summer drizzle on a tree-lined course made for some tricky conditions.

Lewis was given 3rd in the Boys U10 but as he was only 7 at the start of the year had to settle for the U8 win Oh ya dancer !

Morgan and Lusia up next. Both started off near the back but progressed through the field. Lusia got into a real battle with Wednesday night training partner Ellie P of the Glasgow Riderz and spent the 25mins plus 3 laps swapping places before winning the sprint on the line Oh ya dancer ! Special mention to the cracking Isla bike that Lusia was crit racing for the first time courtesy of Dynamo Falkirk :icon_yes

Euan, Katie and Alana up next in the U14's. 25mins plus 3 laps for this one too. By this time the rain was really coming down. Still waiting on final results but a good performance from all three

Next up was Josh in the U16's. No race report for this sadly as had to get the wet ones into the car and home for family visiting. Hopefully Josh will be able to add some detail
