Dougie Da Rosa Posted October 24, 2004 Report Share Posted October 24, 2004 The dinner night was absolutely brilliant.A whole host of celeb's and happy faces was a sight to be seen.Mixing with guys like Chris Hoy,Graeme Obree,Brian Smith,Alan Miller not to mention Paul Rennie,Evan Oliphant and the regulars Jim Cuisick and Hugh Jamieson.The food was top drawer,the auction frantic and jovial and a fantastic amount of money raised,in the region of £7k I believe.I usually judge a good night out by the time it takes me to loose the hangover,considering I got home at 4 am and the head cleared at 7pm saturday night it was a damn fine night and roll on next year. a.yeoman Posted October 25, 2004 Report Share Posted October 25, 2004 well done to Kat Braveheart Dinner was a great night out, when else would you get the chance to eat, drink, socialise and gererally talk rubbish with 100 other cyclists? I even got to hold Chris Hoy's medal and stand between him and Graham Obree As for the auction - what a brill selection of signed tops, rare photos, water colours etc etc. I think Dougie bought a Lance Armstron pic but the prices for the tops were a bit high for me - Think Chris Hoy's top went for over £450, he even sold his own top which says a lot about him. Best spend of the evening came from Mr Dooley himself when he paid Brian to put on the KOM top - I'm sure it would have fitted him about 10 - 15 years ago Next year lets get a table together and maybe even a mini bus to save the drivers..
