Planning an easy shortish ride on Thursday 31st starting at the lights at Morrisons

Later start (around 11'ish?) should allow the temperature to climb a little and maybe some back roads will be passable.

Excellent conditions today, except from half way up the Hailey Brae when we started to experience extreme conditions. At the top, it was downright dangerous with a fierce blizzard into the face and I was all for going back down to Largs for the train home.

After a while, things improved and it just became difficult and unpleasant. Now completely knackered.

Darryl

Sorry to hear about illness.

Yes the good bits today were very good due to recent weather and no gettin oot. Roaring tailwind from Gourock to Largs meant buzzing along at 28 - 30 most of the way. On the way over to BOW on the high road the snow was settling on ma jacket! however fine once we got down to Greenock.

Crest of Heely was horrendous for 15 mins. As in 'clear and present danger'. Only tried to ride in a wind like that once before at crest of Applecross and had to turn back as might have got blown off mountain. And there was no snow that time

Anyway - plan to be at Morrisons 11am.

Sorry we missed you, Kay. We would have waited longer if you had posted.

Paul, Campbell, Ian and I went over to the Port. Then Ian headed to Westferry for TT practice. It was such a nice day, the rest of us went to Largs to enjoy the views to Arran.
