mattulyatt
Is anyone planning on doing this event on Saturday at 1300? HQ is at Fenwick. I sent my entry off yesterday and there was an entry of 49 of a potential 60 at that time. I shall let you know what occurs! Matt
Stevie Blom
Just spoke to David Millar the Race Org. He confirmed he had to send back people's entries due to a full field.

2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted March 12, 2009 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted March 12, 2009 Jim Whilst its not far over to Moscow, you are more than welcome to stop by on the way and we can travel together if you want - and make a cunning plan, that unfortunately may require superior fitness, hmm that could be a sticking point for me ! Just let me know, I plan to leave just before noon. PMcD

Guest Jim Daly
Terrific 4th place in the big and dangerous bunch sprint for Paul Puncture for me and no entry for Matt So, a mixed bag of results for the Joansin
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted March 14, 2009 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted March 14, 2009 Jim and I started in the 3rd out of 4 groups in a full field of 60 riders. Jim had misfortune to puncture after about 28 of the 36 miles. Groups 1&2 had 10 Ayr riders and a race plan to go all out to keep the early groups away. However, in a perfect handicapping, all the groups came together on the final drag through Moscow with 2 miles to go. My legs pretty shot at this point but had a go at the sprint, which in the scheme of things was one of the hairier ones (about 40 riders-early season-mixed ability-pot holes etc) and some riders going down inside the last 200m, managed 4th behind the strongest rider in the field Bazza McGurk and the 2 ringers from the second group, Kenny Raeside (2nd) and Brian Loye (3rd). I was 4th and Craig Gilmour rounded out the first 5. PMcD

Members Kenny MacDonald
Well done Paul, great result. Good to see you using the Joe Friel tried and tested training programme of a 10 week build then a weeks rest before the event. Can we persuade your bosses to send you away before the national champs
