Thirty miles or so base miles Planned route heading Georgetown, Bishopton, long way round the Monkey Hoose, West Glen, Kilmacolm, Lochwinnoch, Howwood and home. Or else we could do it backwards Forecast looks good

Committee Alan McLean Posted May 26, 2008 Committee Report Share Posted May 26, 2008 I found the 0900 bunch, Great. Cool and cloudy as seven of us took the track to Lochwinnoch then started to warm up. Sun came out at Johnshill and we stayed in gorgeous sunshine for the rest of the run. Kilmacolm, west glen road, Old Greenock Road and sharp right to Bishopton. We regrouped and planned the fastest route to georgetown but Bill had other ideas and took us on a wee diversion through Erskine. We agreed that Charlie McCusker chose the best site ever for a puncture. There is simply nothing better than lying on a grassy, south facing verge, by a quiet road watching someone (else) fixing a flat on a Sunday morning in hot sunshine. Red Smiddy, Georgetown and home. Bill got some extra miles in towing me back to Kilmacolm and was last seen heading towards Newfoundland with a strong easterly at his back. White jersey and a big welcome to Zana (apologies for spelling) on her first bunch ride. Alan
