Committee Alan McLean Posted October 29, 2007 Committee Report Share Posted October 29, 2007 Thanks Darryl I've lost the thread on this. Is the idea to cycle there on Saturday and back on Sunday? Or could I drive there Saturday lunchtime, cycle round the Leadhills, have refreshment and go back on Sunday morning in my big, comfy car. 2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted October 29, 2007 Author 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted October 29, 2007 Hi Alan for those 'up for it' the plan has always been to cycle to the hostel on Saturday, and back on Sunday. Of course, there is nothing to stop you booking accomodation nearer the time and driving out - perhaps a few others will be doing the same. The more the merrier. If cars are going down, maybe some luggage could be carried Anyway, as you will see from the list, I haven't actually included you because you said you weren't sure, but it would be great to see you. Committee Alan McLean Posted October 29, 2007 Committee Report Share Posted October 29, 2007 Thanks darryl. I've PM'd you. Don't know if I could face taking a fully loaded bike to Leadhills. Glass wine bottles weigh a ton. One of those Ortlieb panniers might make a nice wine bladder. Do they come with taps? A

simon simpson
Any decent panniers can easily hold 6 bottles of wine..... I think it's shame to miss out on the Moniave approach so that's down to Carsphairn onto Moniave over to Tynron and then into the hills ss will post on food later this week when I have spoken to the sous-chef ss
Dennis
Hi Darryl, I meant to ask you this at the spinning on Wednesday but forgot, then tried to send a pm but don't think that worked. A life-long cycling pal of mine, Dave Philip, Dunbar, may be able to come along on the Wanlockhead weekend. He knows some of the club members from the Peebles run this year. Are there any spaces left if he can manage to come? Sorry for being so late in the day. Dennis

Dennis
Just to say that Dave Philip has booked up direct and we'll both meet up with the Bunch at Johnstone on the Saturday morning. Got my panier rack fitted and the hire/carry rate is £10 per kilo What's the latest plan regarding the meeting up time? Dennis
