  1. Well done Alan. I'll get you at the clubhouse on Sunday.
  2. Manflu this weekend. Will try and come along to the clubrooms to help out around ...around 12ish !!
  3. Thanks to Ian for homemade soup, the others for food and to Alan T for organising. Good to meet Alan from Largs on his first Wheelers run in this country as Chung has ridden with him overseas, and i have given the discs a good clean, but they will still squeak for the rest of the winter no doubt.
  4. Wild and wet forecast for tomorrow so another non starter. Hopefully conditions will be better for next weeks 1st reliability run. Dave
  5. Thanks to Paul and Boyd for the company yesterday. Good to get out for a few hilly miles in dry weather. Route as posted and no incidents except for Boyd failing miserably trying to shepherd four stray sheep back into their field above Kilmacolm . Dave
  6. Looks like the temperature is 10 degrees higher than last week, so a balmy 5 degrees for Sunday. Thinking of keeping it to a local 30-40miles via Houston, Gleddoch, Kilmacolm, Lochwinnoch etc. 9.30am clubrooms Miller St newbies and returners welcome. Dave
  7. Looks like another cold andfrosty morning forecast for this Sunday morning resulting in another indoor spin session. Does the frost and rain only appear on a Sunday recently, or does it just seem like that. Happy New Year everyone. Dave
  8. Google" daily record joe brunetti" and there is an article written last year...sorry can't do the link thing.
  9. As the highest temperature forecast for Sunday is 1 degree, think it will be a morning on the turbo or a spin class for me and Mrs Reptile blood. Dave
  10. Thanks Graeme and Iain. Have started training already...see Amaretto photo !!!!
  11. Photo of the night oot in Amaretto our new sponsor
  12. Thanks to Graham for the route today and good to meet up also with Paul and Boyd. When we reached Dalgarven Boyd left us due to time constraints and was replaced by Mia who met us in the cafe. Carol left us at Kilbirnie on the way home to take the track home and the rest took the hilly way back via Dibble Road and Johnshill. About 50miles in total on a dry and bright day. Dave
  13. Jann , we booked a package deal with Jet2 and went for the full monty with all inclusive.
  14. Charlie, just to clarify, the table is reserved upstairs and is only in order that we can get a seat. Food can be ordered if required but is not a necessity . In the past, people have ordered pizzas and bruschetta and AlanT is usually lumbered with bill at the end !!! Carol will bring her good camera.
  15. Just a reminder that a table is booked for 7.30pm for the Wheelers
  16. We had discussed this earlier this year and now have confirmed details. Boyd, Morna, Carol and myself have now booked a 7 day trip to Port de Pollenca , Majorca from Saturday 19th May to 26th May. There is no sportive involved and we don't plan to cycle 300k each day, it will be more of a social cycle tour , and hopefully soaking up good weather, good roads and all the dramatic scenery that the north of the island has to offer. We are based in the Fergus Pollensa Park Hotel and if anyone else would want to come out for the week or a few days you are more than welcome as it would be great to see the blue and yellow of the Joansin on a suuny tour. Dave.
  17. sorry guys, black ice here and just too cold this morning...maybe next week
  18. Sunday weather forecast looks like being a repeat of last week...cold and frosty May go out if feeling brave for 30-40 miles towards Stewarton/Kilwinning Provisionally .... 9.30am at clubrooms Miller Street
  19. Baltic just now...not today Dave & Carol
  20. Forecast is for a raw cold day tomorrow with possibly frosty start. Will make a decision tomorrow morning wither to come out or not. If out ..9.30am at clubrooms and maybe Dalgarven Mill or Stewarton or open to other suggestions. Dave
  21. Not a bad wee run yesterday after a slippy start by me. Same route as last week with Ken leaving us at Gleddoch and me, Boyd and Anthony carrying on to Kilmacolm and Lochwinnoch for a coffee at Castle Semple where the temperature rose to 3.5 degrees. Cycle track had thawed out by the time we headed home. Dave
  22. If it not too frosty tomorrow was thinking of going the short route to Largs....cycle track to Kilbirnie then A760 down Haylie Brae to Bagle Basket If returning by same route then approx 40miles, but open to other suggestions. Clubrooms 9.30am
  23. Boyd, I was planning to come out tomorrow and maybe Carol if it is not too cold first thing, Could you make it 9.30am at clubrooms to give any frost time to thaw. Dave
  24. Six of us made up the run today, Boyd,Chung, Ken, Bill, Carol and myself and headed up the Bowfield Hill in glorious weather. The usual farm roads to Barmill and then headed for Stewarton along Bloak Road were we met the faster bunch going the other way. Change of plan and headed for Dunlop Dairy for a coffee stop where we were guinea pigs for new fruit scones. Chung headed left on the way back and the rest went through Dunlop, Lugton and down Bowfield. Thanks to all for the company and good to be back out in a bunchl Dave
