  8. Hi All, Was round seeing Anne, she is bearing up amazing well. The funeral is likely to be Friday morning 10:30 at clydebank crematorium (possibly Tuesday but doubtful) she will confirm exact details (times/ location) once they have confirmed on Monday then onto Amaretto (availability dependant) afterwords, she was wondering about numbers so if you could maybe give me an indication how many are likely to attend as she wasn't sure if amaretto would be big enough and I can feed back. She was saying how she likes to see the pictures of Alex that she hadn't seen before etc. I had printed of the messages and photographs from the posts as thought it would be good for her to read the stories and see the photographs to see how much he was loved within the group. I was thinking it would be nice to put together some sort of photo book to give her and I am happy to organise if everyone ok with that. If anyone would like to email me a photograph/s and a caption about the photograph/ photographs? my email is "[email protected]" - Let me know your thoughts on this if you think is a good idea?
  9. Anne Baird contacted me earlier today with the sad news of Alex's Passing in Hospital this morning. Anne has asked to let the Johnstone Wheelers know and said she will pass the details of funeral arrangements as soon as possible and I will post up. Terrible News
  10. Yes they did the job and the scones were complimentary, thanks to the Dunlop hotel
  11. Heading out 1pm on Monday if anyone about and fancy joining me, reasonable pace, 4hours not sure of route as yet
  12. Input from a newbie, have been enjoying the chaingang in the current format and feel it is great for bringing you on, I feel it’s really helping me along both with advice from all the other riders and fitness etc which in turn helps me in the bunch. The neutralisation zones are a welcome addition as surfaces are terrible and seem to be workng well and give me a moment to catch my breath. Granted there has been a few incidents with drivers however I feel we would still have that issue if not more in 2 or 3 groups. The quick briefing pre start worked well a few weeks ago, maybe having each week might be an idea to see if there are any concerns about that evening ie, the current weather conditions may suggest quick regroup after certain areas where coming off is highly likely. Also if anyone has any input of current spills etc on the route Safety in numbers! There are a lot of people out there who are exceptionally bad drivers and others who simply detest cyclists. loving the chaingang! However love when it’s finished!
  13. Is this happening on the Saturday or the Sunday? How many miles is it?
  14. Thanks all, will keep as an option and get onto it nearer time then, good stuff!
  15. Is anyone doing this next year or any other similar rides around this as needs to be term holidays for me. Interested if anyone is doing or thinking of doing...? Or having spoken to Paul Leavy maybe Mallorca sounds good, will see nearer the time
  16. Thanks for looking after young jack, he said he really enjoyed the run and you guys were very helpful - cheers
