  1. 30 minutes didnt improve things so the gym beckons, hopefully make it out tomorrow
  2. the ice seems to be worse than last week so going to give it a miss this morning, unless it melts in the next 30 minutes!
  3. Auchenlodment road (the braes side of Elderslie that goes past Windyhill Woods) is good - its not the biggest or hardest of hills but it is quiet and has a decent surface until just before the top, so makes the descending/recovery part easier.
  4. Strange night for me - after the first 10 laps of the opening race (48 lap points) i felt alright, however despite this all the races passed me by a bit. The last race someone swung up during the sprint so i had to swing up too - that was a bit frustrating - although i dont think i'd have have done any better anyway. Alan - seems like the 14 did the trick. I didnt see the last race but i reckon in the 12 lap scratch you would have been challenging for a podium rather than 7th if you hadnt got boxed in with a lap to go. Just think what you'll be like when you put the 13 cog on!
  5. Will give it a miss today Wont be there
  6. Some fast racing today - 30 lap scratch to start things off, pace was hard from the start and didnt ease much, was a bit too far back when the sprint started. Next was a devil, i found myself near the back early on but didnt panic as there was still someone behind however he had already been eliminated , d'oh! Last was a 60 lap points, went for the 2nd sprint...or maybe it was the first its a bit of a blur i got a 2nd. There was a breakaway - which i couldnt contribute too - after that we got about half a lap - by the next sprint it was breaking down and i got a 3rd or 4th then it eased off for about a lap and we were caught. I knew the easing off would mean we would be caught but my legs were cooked, i could hold on when the speed went up but just didnt have another sprint left so all that hard work for nothing. Paul was mad enough to do the endurance racing and the sprint events, i had a relatively easy afternoon in comparision!
  7. Might be out but not sure see how my legs feel
  8. saturday track league for me this week
  9. Good to see them get the wildcard. Kudos looked impressive in the mountain stage of the Tour of Turkey that Yates won last year. Think he is a couple of years younger than Yates too so must only about 20, bright future if he continues to progress.
  10. B's tonight, first up a points race it passed me by a bit then a couple of scratch races - which i felt reasonably good in them although was nowhere when it mattered. Enjoyable night though, no drama this week just some good racing!
  11. good session tonight, liked the video
  12. Hopefully going to make it tonight, if there are no turbos left i'll use the rollers
  13. Thanks for the dates. Unfortunately not, 4th cat only races have to be run on closed roads or traffic free circuits
  14. That was the longest ive ever been on a turbo, tough at times but some good training!
  15. Either or for me if turbo can i book a club one
  16. can i provisionally book a turbo? i'll post in the morning if i dont need it.
  17. The Fenwick one would be good to start as it is an APR - This means different groups are seeded with a time gap inbetween, the faster groups set off later on so they need to catch the ones in front before the finish. I'm not sure who does the seeding but as a new racer you'll probably have a good chance of being in the first group.
  18. Good stuff. Although make sure you get the domestiques to work for you too if the race suits you best! At the moment i wont be any use but hopefully will have lost some weight by then. Regardless of weight i'll be doing some crits again (touch wood i am injury free) and then use the Thursday night bunch as a measure to see how im doing - basically if im not in sight of the racers going up the Clune then there isnt going to be much point entering anything with so much as a speedbump in it.
  19. My biggest month last year was 1062 in July, he's way beyond that already in just 8 days.
  20. Eventful night in the Bs. First up a 30 lap scratch, i went with about 3.5 to go then as the bell went started to get swamped, first rider past ok but the second was squeezed by the rider trying to overtake us both causing him to go go against me. Fortunately managed to stay upfright but foot unclipped which didnt make for the most pleasant of experiences! Next was 50 lap points, i think i got a 4th in the 2nd sprint (i dont even know if you get points for that!) then there was a breakaway of about 4 and i miscalculated i thought we were going to catch them so just stayed in the middle taking it easy and waiting for the catch. But they ended up getting the lap. Last was was 30 lap scratch, with an incident filled start (the worst behaviour that has happened at the track league in the years ive been going) with the guily rider being red flagged. Shortly after this there was a crash too and the gun hadnt even gone yet. Anyway onto the race, felt pretty good during it and was near the front with about 2 to go so started the sprint, Danny showed how its done though breezing past on the back straight and making it look easy but managed to hold on for 2nd place. Good contingent of Jets and Wheelers tonight, all looking in good form.
