    Spied a Wheeler

Looks like Chic Young's older brother, does Billy Mac. When did the zimmer frame arrive ye auld goat?
  2. Have posted on the pre bogs training thread. Won't make it this weekend but aim to get out thereafter and hold on until spat out (probably near Largs) for a ride of shame back to wherever. M
  3. I believe the winter bogs bunch starts this weekend - Paul McD will no doubt confirm, here or on another thread. This thread, therefore, is now closed. Albeit I won't be out this Saturday morning (5th), I intend riding with the Boggers this winter. My aim is to hold onto their wheels for as long a possible before getting spat out. Anyone else of a similar frame of mind is welcome to join me in the ride of shame. M
  4. I'll be out this morning. 09.00 depart from Miller St. Doing the coast to Largs. If Ginty needs to be in Greenock for 1pm we'll ride down the track to Kilbirnie and over to Largs. Coffee stop at Wemyss or Gourock. M
  5. I'll be out on Saturday. 09.00 at Miller Street. Happy to reverse coast. Will thrown in a cafe stop at Gourock or Wemyss Bay perhaps. Bluebird cafe or cafe opposite the ferry terminal? M
  6. Saturday for me Gents - suits my weekend plans. Usual coast ride but could be persuaded to do something different. 09.00 at miller street. Apologies for bumping Billy's post. PS nae muddies required on Saturday
  7. Apologies for my errant alarm clock. Have sacked my butler. Nice day for it again. Sneaked in a flat, brisk 50 down to the garnock valley and back. Met Ramsay and Elaine en route. M
  8. Same again this week Gents? No idea what the forecast is. 09.00 from Miller Street, with the late risers meeting at the Red Smithy or Bishy. Who is in?
  9. Info on flights noted. Upgrade me from a possible to a probable. Is there a plan? Does it involve google maps, naming villages, spotting watering holes and generally getting lost every day?
  10. You are a bad man McBagel. If I can wangle annual leave, finances and a weekend pass then yes interested. I wonder if I can use Heather's week in New York as leverage? Do BA fly into Alicante? Air miles could get burnt.
  11. Same again this week gentlemen (and women)? 09.00 depart from Miller Street, down the coast to Largs (coffee stop), up the Haylie Brae and over the Kilbirnie, track back to Johnstone. Forecast is a bit damp/light drizzle and 10 degrees. Steady pace i.e. not above 20mph (seemed to work well last week), keeping it together on any ramps. Regroup on the Haylie as per usual. Again, if you want to go hard and fast then get posting an alternative run. Who's riding?
  12. I see the Majorca trip has been holed below the water line. Nae luck gents. Anyway something to perhaps cheer you up. For 2018, and I know it is a bit earlier and I have done zero homework on flights etc, however I am going to suggest the girosardegna (sorry don't seem to be able to paste a link - help!?!). A 6 day sportive Race/Tour which gives you a timed stage every day and not finishing every day doesn't stop you riding the next day. The tour option is kind of get and ride your bike stuff. I was going to suggest Sardinia as a destination for 2018 in any case 'cos it is a fantastic island, however my neighbour mentioned this to me. Seems to be something for all abilities, so not just for the main bunch/racer types. Event is held in late April - weather is warm (18 - 20) deg, without being hot. M

    Garmin Gremlins

Did that also Billy. Can confirm I'm running the most recent software. Cheers for the comment. M

    Garmin Gremlins

Looking for some guidance, advice or hand holding. My Garmin edge 810 seems to have a life of its own. It keeps shutting itself down mid ride. If I try to restart it I lose the data from earlier in the ride. Garmin advised a soft or full reset. I did this but the problem persists. Before I go back to Garmin for a replacement/refund has anyone else had this issue, did they resolve it and how. Admittedly I'm not the most tech savvy nor patient with gizmos. Any answers in short sentences please. M
  15. Just perfect sums it up. Good to have Darryl back in the fold. Nice one Mr Gunson.
  16. Would be good to have you grace us with your presence Darryl.
  17. Jaki, Wind direction dependent but steady at this point would equate to in the region of 16-18 mph +/- 2mph. No daft surges or sprints and keeping it together on any ramps You're more than welcome to join us for all or part of the route. Circa 50 mile round trip back to Miller Street. It's more about the miles in the legs right now rather than eyeballs out speed.......or at least that's what I'm telling myself. M
  18. Pre bogs/winter riding part II - Sat 8th Oct. Steady run to Largs (and I mean steady, if you wanna go full gas get tae Arran with the Grumpel lad). Clubrooms 09.00. Coffee stop - usual place. Bonus prize of riding past me on the Haylie is optional. Post if you fancy it. M
  19. Easy/steady 'down the coast' and back to the outer reaches for me on Saturday, Andy.
  20. Cheers Paul, I'm down south this weekend but will catch up next week. M
  21. Might consider this Paul. The dog needs the exercise! Does the treadmill fold flat? M
  22. Sounds like a plan, William. Gives me a whole year to get fit again.
  23. Welcome to the LEJOG fraternity, Ryan - good effort. Nice report, brought back some memories especially of Day 2 legs. Enjoy the thought you've done it and no one can take it away from you. M
  24. Darryl, you have the distinct advantage of having a Steve Austin leg and a genuine note from your mum. I'm just soft and weak.........but thankfully my softness and weakness still resembles a cyclist shaped object, unlike Pilsbury Bison Boy who is so wide he has to have his own thread just to fit on to the forum. Good to hear you're back in saddle. Hopefully catch up soon. M
