Remember it is right beside Sellick Park. Any later and you will be caught up in traffic when they are playing on a Wed night. Coming home could be problematic too as the traffic won't have cleared.
Quicker to go by bike!
Aye, the run home was incident free with a nice tailwind the whole way. I went via Greenock too, got soaked, and then dried out a bit by the time I made it home. All in all, an exciting day. Certainly better than going to Largs!!
In today's Paisley Express there is half a page about Lewis's crash. Tomorrow there is a full report in the 'Cycle Clips' section.
I wasn't able to make it, how did our 4th cat. riders get on? Any tales of glory or tales of woe???
Not the best run today. How many punctures did the group have? Must have been around 10! All the waiting around and miserable weather didn't make the day very pleasant at all.
Today there was a full page story about Paisley Velo CC. Ben was in a couple of photos. Did anybody else see it? I wonder if Ben managed to get hold of a copy?
As a prospective member, i like the idea of having an intermediate group and/or giving a rough guideline as to average speed of a forthcoming ride.
I'll hopefully be out with a group at some point before i join. However the 30-milers sounds like it might be a bit slow (famous last words!) and some of the other runs sound a bit daunting (Arran).
For example, what is the ave. speed of the Thursday night run? I'm tempted to try it but worry about messing up your chaingang.
Of course it is all about riding a bike but for newbies the intermediate group could be a great idea. I'm sure most of the regulars have a good idea of what speed a ride will be by who starts the thread and whoever says they are going along.Personally I have no idea if Billy Mac rips along Cancellara or lancelogan blasts away like Gilbert....
So who were the group of 15-20 cyclists i saw going along Houston Road in Bridge of Weir at about 10:30am this morning? They were mainly decked out in blue/yellow but i don't see any planned trip for a Wheelers club run?
Is there another club with similar colours?
