  1. I'LL there! We definitely need to sort out some out-of-town runs!
  2. What happened to you Ian. We waited until 09:04! Excellent run today in lovely sunshine. Bunch of seven - Morna, Mia, Carol, Dave, TT Alan, Anthony and me. Lovely café stop at Eglington Park - the scones were enormous and filled with cream and jam! Chapeau to the '30 Milers' who did more than 50 miles! I think Mia would have been nearer to 70 miles by the time she got back to Kilmacolm? This is why I love cycling - just one big happy family!!
  3. I'll be there. I will be adding extra miles at the end for myself if anybody else interested.
  4. What a lovely day for a run (with a bunch of 8) after a chilly start! Got a bit warm so had to unzip my jacket couple of inches at the end!. Left the bunch at the dairy and soloed back to LW via Kilmaurs, Crosshouse and Kilwinning. Excellent day out and a good old natter in the tearoom. The chocolate cake was lovely. I think we have exhausted the cheese jokes!!!
  5. I'll be there. After the cafe stop will peel off and do a few extra miles at a medium pace. Any Intermediates want to do that?

Sorry,Billy. When I see a rider in club kit approaching I slow own and get a a good look at the face to see who it is. You weren't wearing club kit so I didn't take any notice of who it was. Couttie was so far behind you that I thought he was by himself!!
  7. I got through the road works on the Whin today.

Ian Coutie grinding up Hayley Brae as I was gliding down it!!
  10. Excellent turnout. Big bunch (16?) for the middle group. A pretty nifty pace too (average 17 mph) for me! My winter miles must be paying off as I didn't get dropped on the climbs! (not bad for an OAP!) Tried to call you Chung when we waited after the Wall but no reply so we pressed on. Thanks to those who provided refreshments. Can somebody bring some milk next week?
  11. No problem, Boyd - glad you made it. The others will be kicking themselves they weren't there on such a perfect for cycling!!
  12. Had to walk 100 m from house to get on gritted road! After that no problem with ice. Graeme, Boyd and me had a good steady run to Eglington Park for café stop. Café is excellent with lots of space for a bunch invasion. Scrambled egg roll was very good and Graeme was impressed with the amount of bacon in his roll (Chung please note! ). On the way back it had warmed up a bit and the sun was starting to break through. Towards the end I peeled off to do an extra loop and got 52 miles in the bag.
  13. The park is just the other side of Kilwinning and has a café. Looks nice on the webpage http://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/resident/leisure-parks-and-events/eglinton-park/SeeDo/Cafe.aspx Menu attached. Route via Bowfield, Barrmill, down B778, Kilwinning. On the way back I intend doing an extra loop myself to get miles up to 45 - 50 if anybody interested. Probably via BoW, Houston, GTown road. Miller Street 09:30 Weather looking OK. Post if coming.CafeMenu.pdf
  14. Elaine, Boyd, David and me set off from club. Boyd peeled off after we ascended the Rannoch Road climb where were enveloped in the clouds at Sergeant Law and the fields were still white with frost. So our ride was much colder and murkier than the other bunch going to Largs!! Very welcome café stop at Dalgarven Mill where we huddled around the heater!!
  15. I'LL be there and will do some extra miles if anyone wants to do that.
  16. Good day out! Andy, Graham and me came back via kilwinning to get the milage up. Great to find a new cafe - very bike friendly!
  17. Checked on internet and Jacks cafe is open on Sunday
  18. I'l be out - need to buy more of that lovely cheese!

This afternoon - Eric coming up the Clune as I was going down.
  20. I'll be at club 9:30 and will try to hang on. I don't want to be stuck in headwind by myself over moors (assuming we are still doing Bris glen).
  21. Thanks, Andy. Good joke!!!! What happened after the explosion at the French cheese factory? All that was left was de brie!
