All Just to point out our club Audax is on this day to and more miles to the pound to. Campbell See daves insert from Audax section. Our 200k audax is on 24 June starting @ 8:00am at the clubrooms. It was a good day out last year, ask some of the guys that rode it. Free food at first check and at finish. You can enter on the line, but I'd appreciate a phone call or email to warn me. Great news KennyS I have been using flashing lights on my bike for years and it is on reading this that I now no that it’s legal. I would recommend a works fluorescent vest for night riding over than above lights it goes on top of what ever you’re wearing in any weather. I have 6 Cateye lights on the work bike 3 rear tl-td500 all on flash mod and hl-el500, kl-el300 constant and an hl-el410 flashing to the front. I only put on the 500 when in unlighted roads. I use Ikea batteries as for 10 AA 1.99 and 10 AAA its 2.99 I thing and always stager your batteries so as the go dime at different times. Rechargeable in the 500 and 300 front lights they last a week and recharge over the weekend. I do roughly 3000 miles a year in the dark and with all the above on I don’t fell any unsafe than in the light and on average the vehicles on the road pass you with more room than in the summer when they can see you clearly supposedly. I always say never give them the excuse to say they never see you. Campbell PS If the PBP organiser say you should wear a reflective vest during your night riding or be disqualified and that’s the French for you there must be something in it Arco sell and Auk sell them for £10 pounds see their site. The results for the 5#7 10TT on 08/08/06 was David Raymond - 35:03 – First 10tt so PB Tony Carrigan – 27:26 - PB Jim Daly - 24:33 The night was dry and a light breeze was there so not a bad night for riding as for the time keeper the midges had there fill. Dougie It was the flat speed of 11 mph at full pelt as the stronger gusts cam in that got me. Just to cheer you up I looks like it will be this for the rest of the week. It only took me a extra 10 minutes on my 13.5 mile run but it felt like more, good work out. But it was fast stuff this morning cruising 25 mph down the Sheildhall road this morning for me so cant complain. Campbell
