  1. Hi Al, Greetings from rainy Scotland, looks like great weather and scenery for cycling. Where abouts is that in Oz? (Not that I'll have a clue anyway) By the way, how come there isn't anyone around in the photos except you? Cheers Chung
  2. Sorry that I couldn't join you all today! No excuses, just couldn't get out of bed. Sounds like a good run. Same again next Sunday? Cheers Chung
  3. Hi all, Not sure what the snow on the roads in Renfrewshire and coast like, does anyone have an update? Out here in Mearns, snow is quite heavy and beginning to fall again. I will drive down to clubroom if I come out tomorrow anyway, just wondered what the situation is like thats all. Hope it will be fine for tomorrow and please keep us up to date if possible. Any alternative plans if weather gets worst? Cheers Chung
  4. Hi Jan, Why not join the Largs run on the same day, there's lots of bale-out option. I'm sure there will be a lot of us (myself included) who are not going the full monty. Hope to see you there! Cheers Chung
  5. Hi Richie, Welcome to the club and the mad world of club cycling. The run we did yesterday was I would say a long one for the time of the year. The total milage was 75miles from clubroom to clubroom, average speed was something like 26-28kph according to my cateyes speedo. We don't usually do such big miles around this time, as you probably heard, a lot of the guys (from yesterdays bunch) are doing the Flanders sportive this coming April, and are training for the long miles so they can "ENJOY" the experience on the day. Don't be put off by the distance and speed (or lack of), there were numerous bail-out options, in fact we started with around 13-14 riders, by the time we reached Largs we were down to 11, and then only 8 went for the return leg retracing the route back while some took the shorter (stepper) route back and 1 took the leisure option (who shall remain nameless) So, don't be afraid. Just come along, there should be someone that will offer you directions for any bale-out course or even accompanying you to some where you are familiar with so you can get home safely. We all have to start somewhere and we've all been there as a cyclist. You will see from the club run post that they are doing the Largs run again this Sunday, be it a longer version. You are more than welcome to come along and try it out. Hope to see you out! Cheers Chung
  6. Hi Kenny, Sorry I seem to have startled you when I shouted at you on the main road near Dumbarton while I was in my car. Did you have a good run? The rain was coming down while we were in Luss and getting worse as we headed off. Cheers Chung
  7. Would like to join you Darryl but unfortunately I'll be working. Have a good one and see you all after New Year. Chung

Billy, I had the same thoughts too. Great minds think alike! I'll be there, but I will probably bale-out at the Fenwick roundabout on our return leg to head up A77 to N. Mearns if thats O.K with you Billy. Cheers Chung
  9. Hi Jan, The reason I was walking was trying to see how grippy my new shiny Sidi MTB shoes. It was a good outing and reminds me how bad I miss riding on the road, I'm just rubbish at MTB. P.S Martin, nice photos! Cheers Chung

    BOXING DAY

Hi all, How are about going out on your Mountain Bike tomorrow? Meeting at clubroom 9.45am for a 10.00am start. The more the merrier. Cheers Chung
  12. Cheers, Kenny for your technical support! See you all tomorrow. Chung
  13. Merry Xmas Kenny, How do you manage to get your ID picture to change so frequently? When I'm still using the default one after 5 years. See you tomorrow, mate! Have a good Xmas. Cheers Chung
  14. Merry Xmas Tony & Everyone, I'm easy as to what ever we do. Like Tony said, we can decide once everyone meet up tomorrow. Shall we say a time to go halfway between Tony's & Kenny's suggestion, meet at clubroom 9.45am to discuss and leaving 10.00am? Show of hands maybe? Me! Cheers Chung
  15. Hi Kenny & Richard, I would like to join you as long as route is not too technical otherwise I'll just end up being a hill walking exercise than MTBing. Say, maybe 9.00am at the clubroom? Regards Chung
  16. Hi Richard, How's things with you? Martin kindly took me out on a cold but lovely snowy morning. We did some riding on the road but mostly off road, I must say, my MTB skills are pretty sh*t, so had to get off and walk a lot if I remember correctly. But Martin made it more enjoyable with his local knowledge and facts about the places we were pasting, very entertaining. cheers Martin (Paisley has so much past history) Looks like the snow is here to stay for a wee while, so thats why I invested on a pair of MTB shoes to make use of our mountain bike. Maybe have to use it again next week, who knows. See you on the road! (Or the trails) Cheers Chung
  17. A return ticket to Girona was the best purchase for cycling of 2010 in my book. Still put a smile on my face every time I think about it. Chung
  18. Martin, I personal don't mind which one, but my mtb skill is not great. Happy to do whatever. 9am tomorrow at the clubroom! Chung
  19. Hi everyone, Why don't we just potter around the track or road on our mtb. or if anyone know any good mtb route. Martin, do you have any? Cheers chung
  20. Thanks billy. Is Charlie coming out to play?
  21. Hi Billy, I'm not sure about going on the road, can I confirm with you later on tonight. I can maybe bring road and mtb with me tomorrow. Paul, if we go on the road will you be coming? Anyone else coming out? Billy, what's your mobile number? Cheers Chung
  22. That's Billy and me, who else? Chung
  23. To all thinking of going out tomorrow, What's the road conditions around Johnstone area like? Here in Mearns, there is slight covering of snow on the estate roads, the main roads looks ok to ride on. Just wondered what it would be like tomorrow? If snow turns heavier, do we have a contingency plan for a MTB outing? Need to dust down & set up the MTB bike if so. Billy or Tony (Kenny C, are you cross racing tomorrow?), do you have a MTB route you know of that we can do? Any suggestion anyone? Not bother what we do or where we go, as long as I get out. It's driving me a bit crazy not being able to go out for the past 3 Sundays. I'm happy to do any thing. Cheers Chung
  24. Hi Billy, I'm cool with that,as long as weather's good to ride, I'll be there! Not bother where we go,especially if there is a cafe stop, I'm happy! Cheers Chung
  25. Hi all, Anyone thinking of venturing out this Sunday? How about a trip round to Moscow via Howood? (Reliability Run no. 2?) or other suggestion welcome! If the weather turn for the worse with snow and all, would Tony or Kenny C suggest one of there MTB route, quite fancy giving that a go. Cheers Chung
