Frog 55 kids bike in excellent condition. My son has outgrown it.

Comes with a pair of SKS mudguards, retro-fitted by me.  

Like most kids bikes it has seen very little mileage but has had some chips to the paintwork, which I have touched up with Humbrol enamel paint in the appropriate colour (I'm not saying it would pass for brand new but the colour is a good match and you have to look closely to see where the chips were - see photo #5 which is a close-up of the rh fork leg). 

These bikes are currently around £310 brand new.

I'm selling my Cannondale Synapse Claris. It's size 56cm and I bought it in August 2015 from Evans Cycles. It's done something like 500 miles and is still on its original chain, cassette and brake pads. See link below for photos:

Claris is Shimano's budget 8-speed groupset but I've found it works flawlessly and the advantage of an 8-speed setup (as opposed to 10 or 11) is that the shifting is less sensitive to cable stretch and environmental factors such as heat/cold and dirt. Also new chains/cassettes in 8-speed are cheap

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the "miminum passing distance" law has been implemented in other European countries (such as France, Spain, Germany) for many years now. It may be difficult to enforce but it's a statement (or a declaration of intent, if you like) which must surely help the case of the cyclist, and help to improve driver education if nothing else. 

The only downside I can see is that many motorists would demand that cyclists be forced to ride in single file...a fair trade-off in my opinion. 

Try attacking it with a belt sander, using heavy gauge sandpaper.  This will definitely remove the scratch.

As per title - free to anyone who wants it. Have had it about 5 years but only worn it a few times (I've never really liked wearing cycling tops featuring sponsors logos or trade team logos).

I'm just under 6ft, average build, 38" chest, and I find this top quite big on me which is why I've described it as 40-42" chest.

You will need good lights and the front one needs to be powerful enough to light up the road. Also bear in mind what I have said about leaves, gravel etc - these and other small obstacles are harder to see at night even with a powerful headlamp.   MTB/CX bike recommended.

Yes on both counts Ian. My "winter" bike is a Surly 1x1 (i.e. an MTB). My front light is a Busch & Muller IQ Fly. B&M measure the output in lux and I'm not sure how to convert that to lumens but based on other lights I've used, I would say 500 lumens would be a good ballpark figure...it's not bright enough for riding off-road but more than adequate for any kind of tarmac.

Awesome ride last night...I was expecting to encounter some flooding but just found a few big puddles, nothing major. The roads were as quiet as the grave, didn't see a single car until I joined the B776 (Bowfield road).

It's hard to describe how beautiful Lochwinnoch looked from the top of the golf course road. A carpet of  orange pinpricks twinkling behind a curtain of soft drizzle, like the campfires of a small army occupying the hillside above the loch.

...it's 50.1 miles on minor roads. Leaving Miller St at 0900, returning about 1230. No cafe/tea-room on this route but plenty of wooded areas so foraging for roots/berries is a definite possibility. (As long as you're quick)

It includes all the usual fittings to attach it to your bike and your child's bike, plus an extra pair of wheelnut adapters for a Shimano alfine hub (these cost me an extra £10 iirc).

It's a bit scuffed etc but in perfect working order and I'm looking for £100. For an extra fiver I'll throw in the cat as well.

Pair of hardly-used Ribmos for £20.  I will also throw in a pair of inner tubes. 

These came as spares with my CAADX when I bought it 2nd-hand last year. The previous owner had fitted them to the bike for commuting, in preference to the stock tyres (35mm Sammy Slicks).  I know the Ribmos are excellent tyres from a puncture-resistance point of view, but I prefer the Sammy Slicks as I ride on rough roads a lot and like the extra volume. The Ribmos have been sitting in my shed unused for a year, so time to move them on.
