  1. Im driving to Italy at the end of June for a wee holiday and want to take in some scenic mountain passes. I wont be taking my bike unfortunately. I wondered if anyone had ever done this journey before and had any suggestions. Im getting the ferry to Dunkirk and hope to take in the St Gotthard pass or San Bernardino pass.
  2. Thanks again for timekeeping Colin. Chuffed to bits with my time, im sure Ian holding me up helped me shave a second.

  6. Not 100% sure but think its 2man. Its pretty much a straight road of 7.5miles. Outward leg is to a roundabout, doubling back round it and returning the same way, return leg has a very very short quite steep climb (out the saddle for about 4 secs) then straight back to the finish line with a wee 's' bendthrown into the mix. Ive actually just discovered while ive been writing this that you can view the whole course using street view on google maps!
  7. Its known as Houston road on google maps. Any wheeler will tell you tho in our hearts we'll always know it as georgetown road
  8. Anyone up for around 60 miles? A Largs - Brisbane glen kind of run?
  9. Looks like i'll have to give up the midweek miles gang. Didnt get my leave from work
  10. Count me out today. Next week if the weathers good.
  11. Me too, got some time off coming up.
  12. I'd really love a go at track cycling. How would i go about going down on the 1st of May?
  13. Yep. Dont want to get my noo wheels manky on their first outing after all! In all seriousness tho, if its sleety im guessing it will be quite dangerous.
  14. Mr Dooley convinced me a new sparkly pair of Bontrager x lites were the way to go. I must say, they do look pretty swell on myDe Rosa. He's even talked me into a new carbon Ridley frame i think.
  15. Bontrager race wheels shimano compatible, skewers, got tires on them. Excellent condition, hardly used. £100 I can take some pics and send them if interested.
  16. Can i get Mavics from Dooleys?
  17. I'm looking at buying a new pair of hoops. I've whittled it down to two: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Shima ... 360030874/ or http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Mavic ... 360046147/ Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I'm swaying toward the Shimano pair but they only have a 0.7mm rim which seems VERY thin to me?? On that note how do you tell when your rim is worn down too much? Any advice very much appreciated.
  18. Want to go out for a wee run on sunday but noticed a slight scratchy/graty sound coming from my bb earlier when adjusting the set up. It was alright the other day for a 50 miler. Would anyone recommend against going out tomorrow?
  19. Clubrooms at 9 roger that. As always weather dependant, i dont take my classic De Rosa out in any ole weather ye know Fitness isnt upto scratch yet to race in any form. That said i'am hoping to lose some beef and build up a good level of fitness this season, i found a big pile of motivation at the start of the year and spent/ing some money on my bike.
  20. What time & where you guys thinking of meeting up?
  21. No worries. I've got a 3T stem in the pipeline too. 1 1/8 steerer, standard clamp size. Waiting on my new one arriving so if you need it... Whats the story for tuesday & thursday turbo sessions? Do you bring your own turbo? I only have a quite noisy magnetic one.
  22. Are they similar to the virtual reality turbo trainers that are on the market?
