On saturday evening the 13th of november i had the pleasure of attending a wonderfull concert performed by Neil Wilson. Neil Wilson as in the Son of the one and only BLACK BOAB!!!!!! As a Guitar player myself i took the advantage to see this special talent live. My younger brother Willem was lucky enough to have been at the same Music course as Neil and through this he told me many many tales regarding his playing skills. 8pm at the Carrick centre houston a strong crowd of 44 attended. Some cause for concern before the concert due to the possible lack of interest , but as luck would have it 19:55 at field of 30+ walked in. Neil Was welcomed on stage by his father Robert Wilson and the set up was very pro! He kindly explained what type of music he was about to perform and some of the Music was as old as 600 yrs. I knew then i was in for a real treat - a bit like watching Armstrong doing that amazing TT up Alpe Duez - A touch of class above the rest , Above the other Elite contenders. Neil performed a dazzling 1hr 45 of pure flammenco class. Its impossible for me to put into words how he played what it was like but i will say please come along to his next Concert you will not be dissapointed even if you cant stand the Guitar.. I will post his next concert asap. Put it this way 1 of the styles of music he played was written by a composer from brazil. the truth is that the composer could not even play it him self and that only 4 players on the planet earth have ever recorded it. hey dude i know Super 3 star it was last time you had thought it was Elite stuff mate. It's got a report in cycling plus and from what i have seen its got a nice new Swimming pool at the front So a swimming pool at the front and a lovely beach at the rear which is about 50 meters away. Adriatic coast where the temperature is always about 20 degrees in april may time. I reckon with the contact i have had a double room is going for 295 euro's for 7 days. Plus roughly another 100 pounds for a return flight would see you ok for the week. As for spending cash not much needed!!!! You will Get a Buffet Breakfast in the morning plus a Pre packed lunch is made up for your journey which consists of Fruits - Bread plus plenty of water. Its got all you need as most runs will stop for an hour. So you will not need to buy anything from shops etc just a few energy bars tucked in yer jersey. Normally these runs are split in 3 groups : 1st group : Long ride normally 100 - 150 km an all day shot leaving 9am and back for 4-5pm. Bunch ride speeds are sensible so roughly a constant 18-20mph. 2nd group: Medium run with most riders in the hotel opting for this 1!! About 70-100 km - As per above only arrive earlier than above run. 3rd group : Now no 1 should be out with this mob unless you are a total beginner or looking for a easy recovery ride. Let me asure you that some folks on this run find speed bumps on the rd Too much to climb. The Night before the tour guides Pin up maps of all 3 routes for the following day so you can brief yourself - Quite good idea - plenty of information To altitudes etc Now Riding into the world Marco Pantani Trained every day - Those mountains are not like the alps but more like half an alpe but plenty of them so much to climb. They are also steep so best with a 27 or 28. Some of the longer runs take you directly into the heart of TUSCANA. You cant beat that type of scenery - Its like some parts of scotland but imagine it with some sunshine ???? Ali Euan and Andy all hired out bikes - these where top bikes some of them even C40's! Cost for a weeks hire is 60.00GBP. The Idea is to get 750 km plus 10,000 meters climbing in the entire week. I would reckon all in 400 Would Do you for the weeks stay all in but this depends on how cheap your flights will be ? If anyone inerested then let me know. Sean , Best of luck with your new team. Im obviously dissapointed that a quality rider like yourself is leaving but that's the way it is. 1 of the reasons i got into Time trialing is due to yourself. I turned up to the George tn rd last year at the end of July and did my 1st 7.5 TT. Nervous as a wreck BUT when Sean AKA Pretty Boy Passed me at 30 +MPH thats when i said to myself - Thats for me!!!! You have been a definate role model for me and probably many others. Hope you will return to the JWCC and race again? Well thats my point of it all. All , Scott Donaldson was ever so kindly to loan me a 6 dvd set of the 2003 tour de france. 12 hours worth of pure quality , Ullrich v's Armstrong in the mountains plus the Spectacular movement by armstrong to avoid the fall of Baloki. Susi put me in my place tonight folks as she explained that me calfs are a mess. Ok we can all ride bike's n all but do we all know the importance of stretching and looking after our muscles etc.???? So i have now learned that stretching and proper treatment as what we got tonight can help increase your overall performance. Hopefully we can get more punters down in 2 weeks time to support her in her course. Paul , never cycled in turkey but im sure whilst being chased by a bunch of barbarrick men would improve your speed work Marmaris not one of those holiday resort type places , so if you leave the "area" you then go in to shanty town type thing? Hi all. I am planning another training camp trip to Rimini Italy. As some of you may remember myself andy campbell , Ali winship Euan Mckay and Scott donaldson had a great time in Italy. We have some definate candidates for another trip they are as follows: 1 Stevie Blom 2 Ali Winship 3 Euan Mckay Hopefully we can get this booked for the easter holiday period of next year. Dougie , Sorry mate but i will have to pull out of this one. The WOSCA hill climb event is on the 10th as far as im aware and i have plans to ride that 1. Not that i am going to have a chance in winning it with my heavy 83kg up the lyall col. But its the taking part that counts ........ Plus funds are at an all time low as i am planning a return trip to my homeland as you call it the NETHERLANDS (see family) for a few days then Italy for 5 in November. Ciao for now. Stevie B.

Hi al! Would anyone be interested in getting Mark Young back to the club rooms for another go at the King roller test? As it was a 1st time for me last time it gave me an idea how fit i was. For anyone that doesnt know about it , this roller test gives you all the details you need such as : Maximum Heart rate Power output cadence works out if 1 foot is working harder than the other etc etc maybe some other members can explain how they got on and what it done for them. An all round fitness index score Form what i can remember its £15.oo per person. Stevie B
