The pace had been slow and I was dying to have a bash at the sprint to the top of the hill. No excuse really. At the May Day Gallop Gordon Murdoch tried to escape by cycling on the wrong side of the road. We all followed him and I though what a dick... I've joined that club. In a race, you will be disqualified if the commissar sees it, and for good reason. It’s maybe a bit different on the GT road for the sprint because you can see if any traffic is coming. But even then, following someone who calculates that they can make it safely before traffic reaches the bunch could lead to accidents, and nothing is worth that.
