Administrators Jannza Posted January 20, 2010 Administrators Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 Anyone got a spare rear wheel which would fit my road bike before I buy one? Do I need to use the exact same 9 speed cassette ie Tiagra 13-25 if I want to swap the wheels between turbo-ing and Sundays?
KennyS
Jann, The only constraints on the selection of cassette you put on your second wheel will come from your rear mech (can you advise the part number) and your budget The 9 speed sora, tiagra, 105, tiagra and dura-ace are all compatible but there is a maximum number of teeth that the rear mech can handle KennyS
paul mcskimming
all current shimano and shimano compatible wheels/freehub take 8/9/10 cogs. exception was 2007 ultegra WH6600 which was 10 only. short cage mech limit 27 teeth...new stuff 28t you can stick with your 13-25 no probs...good winter block that!! cheers
Administrators Jannza Posted January 23, 2010 Author Administrators Report Share Posted January 23, 2010 Kenny Can't see any part number but the rear mech is a tiagra. The current cassette is an HG50 with the smallest cog a 12. Budget is cheap as possible, can get new one for £40.
