  1. Sounds like a plan Paul
  2. Positive vibes as always Paul let's do it
  3. Whats the feeling for tomorrow people? Think I'd rather get wet with the bogs bunch than frozen and break a leg on the Reliability.
  4. Meeting Eric tomorrow morning at the Monkey House 0930, heading up the Crow Road for a steady ride, feel free to join us. Cheers Robbie
  5. Antenatal class that day unfortunately, shoot me now!
  6. Sorry Charlie had a great spin with Eric today in tremendous conditions blue sky and lovely dry roads, take care in the Hurricane tomorrow.
  7. Good wee ride round the coast today with Eric, steady pace with a few hard efforts, couldn't resist the Bagel! Cheers
  8. Alex, would be great to see you mate, we could take it easy if you're coming out its January after all! Yes Eric I'm still heading your direction, should be at Pullman for 0940.
  9. No probs Mark If solo might try hold Arran pace for a few hours...
  10. Hi Mark I'm planning on leaving BoW back of 9 and heading to Inverclyde then round the coast purely for ease, no planned cafe stop unless I overcook it! Should be on the cycle track for 0930 heading direction of Kilmacolm. Cheers
  11. Chung trip sounds amazing mate, just for info I had a 14 litre saddle bag and small top tube bag for NC500 which was sufficient for me. 18-20litres would be grand.
  12. Men, the weather looks grim on Saturday so I'm planning on heading out Friday morning for a good steady few hours, if anyone is up for it feel free to join. Cheers Robbie
  13. Unfortunately not going to get out either
  14. Hoping to get out tomorrow if weather doesn't get any worse, anyone else?
  15. A tale of 2 half's today. Decent wee bunch to Largs, steady pace n a tailwind, Darryl had more sense and stopped for coffee he looked very happy as we passed the BB. Pretty brutal all the way home, bunch down to 6, head wind freezing and hosing it down, spent the next 2 hours dreaming of the track!
  16. Winter Solo Single Where do I begin. Last night I was visualising my moment of glory on the Hall of fame. Arrived on Arran this morning with nothing but positive vibes, winter bike metal frame full muddies rear light but chose to ditch the front to go for the title. Set off on a steady pace and feeling good, weather was meant to be sunny but still foggy. Half way round, 5 minutes behind the summer pace, first negative thought creeps in but crack on. 36 miles, 2 hours dead, means 20 miles in 45ish minutes, games a bogey but again I'll crack on. Got to the top of Lochranza climb with 30 minutes until the ferry leaves, bottle empty and a wee packet of wiggle haribo, I can make it, I've lost my minerals! Rode as hard as I could, really really struggling by this point, missed the boat by 5 minutes. I'm writing this still on Arran, next boat is 2hrs 40 minutes later, ouch! On the plus side I don't think I'll have a harder training ride this winter, rode in Z4 for 1hr 2min and Z5 for 1 hr 52min! Anyone who completes the Winter Solo is a strong man! Cheers
  17. Monday looks ok for anti-clockwise attack...
  18. Fitted new jockey wheels this morning and everything seems to be running good, cheers for all the info.
  19. I now have 'Jockey wheel induced insomnia' couldn't sleep with all these solutions going round in my head, so up first thing and started to tinker. Hanger, to the eye looks in line, theres been no bumps to my knowledge. Small chainring teeth look fine also, this doesn't get a lot of use being by hammered by the boggers. All screws were tight and in place. Cassette looks also in good nic. So stripped j.wheels to inspect and clean, the wee bush/roller thingy inside bottom jockey doesn't sit quite snug, re-assembled everything and there is a fair bit of lateral movement on both wheels. It looks like the bush has worn on bottom wheel allowing movement, the tension is then lost on chain causing it to jump off, Dooleys in the morning. P.s I'm now running late for a wedding with a pregnant angry wife growling at me!
  20. Thanks again for the info and suggestions men, as soon as I get time my plan is to remove and inspect/clean the jockey wheels and take it from there. Everything has been kept the same, 11 speed kmc chain I have used before, no jockey wheels removed or any screws adjusted it was a straight swap. Groupset is 11 speed Shimano 105 5800.
  21. I've only done it in November Iain but I know a couple of guys that have went up in July with no problems, 1 of them is not as strong a cyclist as you are. Leave as early as possible with plenty water, plan your stops, Vilaflor is the last wee village to fuel up then there's the Parador hotel at the top.
