  1. Good Call Iain, I am a fair weather cyclist in spite of having suitable clothing! Will watch the thread. Sprucing up the house for the tourists return 2 or 3 days ahead of his schedule, due home tomorrow now, Oban tonight. 1559 miles to last nights camp. All down hill from John O'Groats if you hold the map up. Jane

  3. Tuesday, 26 May 2015 10 Mile TT Championship for the Frank Lauder Trophy 19:00 Westferry 10 miles Hopefully the opportunity to win a trophy this week will see a few more take part, and it is the last of the 10 mile TTs for a while. All members and potential members welcome to participate, support or officiate! First rider off at 19:00, meet at 18:45 at the layby on the Clyde side of the M8/A8 roundabout between Bishopton and Langbank. A 10 mile route up to the roundabout at Ferguson's Shipyard, Port Glasgow and back. Two volunteers please to officiate. Posted in Grahams absence, Aviemore tonight.
  4. Hi Mark, if definitely heading for Kilmacolm I will cycle to the club and bail out in or around Kilmacolm. Jane
  5. 2 riders up for this so far, any more? Looks as though there will be some wind to battle. Anyone happy to timekeep etc?
  6. This is a new idea, to give novice (or less fast!) riders the opportunity to experience fast riding in a bunch. Meet at the bus stop on the Georgetown road near the Crosslee-Houston roundabout. We then follow this route:https://www.strava.com/routes/2016619. By starting 15 minutes ahead of the regular Chain Gang bunch should be able to get a fair bit round the circuit before being caught! There are 4 of these scheduled, once a month across the summer, I will not make this one but hope to give it a go another time. Graham F

  11. As 'acting up' anyway I will officially postpone, cancel or declare the ride off. Enjoy a safe turbo or evening of rest. Graham send his best wishes from Lands End where he is enjoying a day off the bike and staying in a B&B instead of wondering where his tent will be when he wakes up. Jane
  12. Billy, I think that is a good call with the bad visibility and puddles on the road cars may not notice you riding. I can't imagine you would get good times tonight. Jane

Please bring your bikes along and we can do some basic bike safety checks, beginner confidence sessions and go on a short gentle ride along the cycle path. If you don't have a bike, you can still come along and check out other bikes to see what style you prefer and feel comfortable on. We will aim to be back at the park for 8pm. Evenings should be lighter by then however if you have bike lights, please bring them. See you there?
