  3. Hi James, I have spoken to the Pactimo agent and as I thought we need 5 orders for Summit bib shorts to introduce them. I don't think it will be possible for this order window. Jane
  4. Hi James, no problem re Gilet. It is at my home, will pm contact details. Summit shorts are a bit tricky, do you have 4 others who want them? I will see if I can do anything. Jane
  5. Hi Andy, there won't be a 30 miler run this weekend as JWCC are hosting the Don Smith Memorial ride, see http://www.johnstone-wheelers.co.uk/thebunch/index.php?/topic/8344-don-smith-memorial-6th-march-2016/ You will be welcome to take part and can sign up on the day in Lochwinnoch. It will be a good opportunity to meet a few folk. Weather permitting there is likely to be a 30 miler run the following week leaving the Clubrooms in Johnstone at 9,30 ish, keep an eye on the forum next week. Look forward to meeting you soon. Jane

  9. Gerard, In my experience the bunch have very fussy taste buds, whatever is supplied is hoovered up, especially if homemade! May I suggest a signature bake? Glad I am not competing with you this week! Alternative suggestions, after a chilly ride soup is always welcome, (1 known vegetarian.) filled rolls, sausage rolls, quiche, tray bakes, scones, tablet/rocky road...... Numbers vary depending on the weather but riders only have to bring along contributions to one out of the four reliability rides, so there should be a lot of food this time! Just post up so there is some variety on Sunday. The club will be open before departure so you don't have to take contributions along for the ride. Tea and coffee are present but fresh milk will also be needed. There are paper plates etc in the clubroom but limited pots, real knives etc. There is a new stockpot for heating soup, mugs etc which will be in place by Sunday. J
  10. Hi, It was noted by Billy while awaiting the return of the hardy souls today that there are currently only 2 complete Turbo kits. If you 'forgot' to remove the cadence sensor and or cable from your bike and happened to take it home, please hand it back in to the Club rooms ASAP. JWCC will have to order new parts if these are not returned. The Club will be open Monday evening for a committee meeting, Wednesday evening for a turbo session and again on Sunday lunchtime for the Reliability ride. Feel welcome to drop in and return them. Thank you.
  11. Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed your run out. Thanks to Carol and Dave for helping in the kitchen, furniture moving and for reaching the shutter to lock up. Graham is donating a piece of rope so I am not so challenged. Total 16 for soup and chat, 12 riders. Donations in Turbo tin towards club funds.
  12. Hi soup at 12 so you could enjoy that first then go after a small thaw?
  13. Thanks Alex, I think Jann is popping over with her key today, If you have your key (and baking?) with you tomorrow you can let folk drop off any goodies before they set off. This will let me arrive about 11.30! Enjoy the ride. Jane
  14. Great. Which group? Are you bringing your key?
  15. Looks like there may be a little ice around, but expecting the hardy individuals to take part looking forward to warming up with their soup.
  16. Looks as though this will be a frosty morning so take care on the ungritted cycle track and roads. Happy to be 'on duty' this week to heat up soup for those keen souls going out but probably too chilly for me. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE VOLUNTEER A KEY? Happy to return it after washing up done or on Monday evening at committee meeting. Sans has donated some rocky road and I have a few rolls here too. Any more contributions? If I am not around when you set off, please leave a note of how many in each group so I know how much soup to warm, expecting everyone back about 12:00. Anyone who wants to come along for a chat welcome then too. Thanks Jane
  17. Hi Alan, yes you can get faster broadband in Kilmacolm but only really worth it if you have at least one keen online gamer. We have 3 'watch again' gadgets running at the same time often and manage fine with 'standard'. We negotiated a great unlimited deal inc phones etc. Worth looking at 'leaving' your current supplier to trigger some great offers. J
  18. Ritchie, I hope the Club will be open then, I will need a key but you can put the rolls in my car anyway. If no one supplies me with a key the soup will be as cold as the outside temperature! J
  19. I plan to provide vegetarian (for Carol!) mushroom soup for the numbers indicated by Saturday and go on a shorter ride leaving at 9, providing I can have some help and a key to open up again. If driving rain, wind or snow it will be a very short ride.... I will get a lesson on the heating at tomorrow's Committee meeting (7pm) to make sure the place is cosy for those riding further. Any kit that is still to be collected will be present. Please post if you are bringing rolls, cake etc.
  20. Hi Ian, Paul McDonald has picked up your kit and will bring it along to you next week. There should be a committee meeting on Monday 1st but I forgot about that when planning. J
  21. First Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoor Pursuits Show, anyone fancy going? http://www.scrops.co.uk/ 5PM also offering tickets http://www.5pm.co.uk/the-big-deal/glasgow/tickets-to-scottish-cycling-running-and-outdoor-pursuits-show-at-secc-on-fri-11th-sat-12th-or-sun-13/?utm_campaign=Big+Deal+-+Daily+-+Glasgow+27%2F01%2F16&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Master
