  1. Tom I will have room for parts of your bike if Iain can't take it complete. I'm away the next two days but can meet Thursday & Friday. I've PM'd my mobile number if its easier to speak. Allan

Paul I bought the 27mm version on ebay from a seller 'highonbikes'. Ordered on Wednesday, arrived today. I think they had 25mm too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vittoria-Open-Pave-CG-III-Isogrip-320tpi-Road-Bike-Tyre-Folding-700-x-27-/310901297559?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160 Allan

Looking forward to all 19 tips Billy...I need them! I tried my new 27mm tyres on Sunday and got my first puncture for months, a 5mm cut in a brand new tyre. Then I hit a tiny curb and crashed. Got away with bruising and dented pride. Onwards and upwards!
  5. You got off lightly Chung...
  6. Won't be out on Sunday. AndrewD and I are doing a charity cycle for Sports Relief from the velodrome heading north east of Glasgow, followed by some P2R training on the cobbles of Glasgow!

Won't be out tomorrow, going to the cup final to fight with the Aberdeen casuals! If anyone is unofficially going over the Erskine bridge note that the northbound cycle lane is now open (with 2 way travel) and the southbound is currently closed.
  8. Not for me, thanks. I've now entered the Tour of the Borders on the same date as the London event.

Andrew, I'll meet you at the club at 8.45. Allan
  10. I'd order arm warmers if they were on the list.

    CANT SLEEP

Iain, don't be dissuaded from your creative thinking by the Duncan's. I think your DVD idea would fit well inside a cycle training App for smartphones, tablets etc where there scope for interaction (imagine Billy shouting at you on your PC), measurement of cadence etc over our favourite courses. I believe the latest Trax turbo products use Google Earth to allow you to ride customised courses....like our reliability rides, TT courses and virtual racing. With Billy's training guidance and Strava type challenges overlaid on top of the video content our turbo sessions would be a lot more interesting. We could even have a virtual Bagel Basket. It might be so good we never actually go out cycling again.
  12. I'll go for ascent s/s jersey, summit bib shorts and gillet.

I'll be out. What time is kick off?
  14. Despite Chungs best efforts my chain was gubbed. As soon as I tried to change gear the shortened chain jammed. Managed to unjam it and cycle home in a single gear. Hope you had a good run and no one drowned!

    Testing Wedensday

Billy as I thought, I'm working out of town on Wednesday. Happy to fit in on Thursday or whenever suits.
  16. Great ride today with a well disciplined 9.30 bunch. Good to meet Will and see Emma and Andy out. Every day's a school day with Chung. We learned how to turn a bike into a single gear, that Paul has a manky chain and how to carry out a fruitless chase of a car which can go much faster than a bike. Seriously Chung I never fail to learn something useful from you, just excellent. Thank you Billy for having the soup and pizza ready for us. You make a gracious host!
  17. 09.30 for me too. Boyd, come and join the 9.30 group...we need hauners to stay in front of the 10.00 bickering bunch!
  18. Billy When I look at the invoice on the organisers system I only see 7 riders: Paul, Greg, Martin, Charlie, Chung, Al and myself. All have booked the shuttle bus. Are you and the others on a separate booking or am I looking at the wrong bit of info?
  19. Good fun today. Thanks to Daryl for his excellent pacing and general encouragement and to Charlie for playing the shouty role and keeping everyone going...good cop bad cop. Highlight however was McGinty's chicken soup and whoever brought the millionaire shortbread. Too obsequious? Hope the wife didn't give you too hard a time Chung!
  20. I haven't received anything in the post so I checked my status on the website. I've been changed to "Cancelled"...nice...so 'no' for me too.
  21. Mark Once upon a time you could get into the 'pictures' in Greenock by paying with empty jam jars? I've PM'd you, Chung & Paul bank details and the address for ginger bottles. Allan
  22. Last year one of the Drumlanrig organisers, Dave Moss, organised a 7 day, 550 mile, Tour of Scotland on behalf of the Tearfund charity. There were 13 riders including Andrew Dunn and myself and it was excellent, basically like doing a good club run every day for 7 days. This year Dave has added another route, up the west coast and Hebrides, and is looking for a few more riders. The route: http://www.tearfundc.../TouroftheIsles I imagine the arrangements will be along the same lines as last year: accommodation in youth hostels; great home cooking from Dave's camp followers; support van transporting bags and providing mechanical support and food and drink. If anyone is interested contact Dave on [email protected]
