  1. All the best! Hope you have the only tailwind of the day!
  2. TT 1) David Millar 2) Ignatas KonovaLovas 3) Denis Menchov
  3. Hello all, I'm interested in trying to get along to the next one. Is it flat out when you're at the front? Am I likely to get shelled out the back? How long is the actual fast pace for? Thanks
  4. Hi folks, I'm looking to borrow a Wheelers short sleeved jersey, size large, if at all possible? I'm heading to the Pyrenees on Monday June 6th, returning on Friday 10th and would like to 'grace' the likes of the Tourmalet in a Joansin' jersey! I was hoping the clothing order would arrive before I left but just in case it doesn't, I thought I'd post up the request early. Thanks
  5. Phew!!! Thought my lead was going! Can't believe I didn't go for the obvious riders though! I know I wasn't the best at maths at school but should Paul, my closest rival I might add, not be on 68 points? He was on 41... +10(1st) +7(2nd) +4(3rd) +2 +2 +2 for placings = 41 + 27 ??
  6. Where was that held Paul? Being a Dumfries boy, I've never seen much down there.
  7. MTT 1) Contador 2) Rujano 3) Anton
  8. Cheers Paul. Doesn't look too bad at all. Fingers crossed!
  9. Just noticed that this thread is all about forward planning! Transmitter Hill on Aug 22nd!! Will anyone be going if this rain keeps up!
  10. Is there an end in sight for the whole Armstrong affair or are the Feds still putting a case together? I've not really read much into it all to decide whether Armstrong did dope or not. When it's cropped up before I did wonder how him and his team could get away with it for so long saying as they were tested a lot. It was the whole Armstrong era that rekindled my love for cycling after a few years in the wilderness so I can't knock him for that. I guess deep down I don't want him to have doped...or don't want him to be found guilty...even if he did! We all know that previous generations had wholescale doping going on but it doesn't make me dislike the riders like Sean Kelly etc when listening to his commentary. Maybe it's because everyone was on a level playing field? Now that Armstrong has retired, I haven't really thought much about him/missed him in the peloton so if the case just went away, I wouldn't really notice. I always take the statements of Landis/Hamilton etc with a pinch of salt though. CBS/Fox or whoever have apparently spoken to Hincapie who confirmed Hamilton's claims although George has tweeted that it's news to him. I hope so because he had also implicated himself!
  11. Hi folks, I'm in for this. Missed last weekend so need to stretch the legs. Can I expect hills?

    SEIZURE!

What a shame! I'm sure you won't be tempted by some nice new Dura Ace calipers!!!
  13. I was delighted that Radioshack pipped Liquigas for 2nd!!

  15. Hi George, Welcome aboard! To give you an idea of what runs people do, have a look in some of the old posts in this section. I only joined at the end of last year and I'm thoroughly enjoying it....when work/family lets me get out!
  16. Colin, Just a query about the sprinters/points if I may Is this the points category as we know it? Similar to the Tour green jersey etc? It's not a 'see what sprinter wins the most stages' kind of thing? Thanks, Richie
  17. Hi folks, I'm assuming this section isn't for bike stuff only...or is it? Anyway, being the big kid that I am, I use Xbox live. My membership recently ran out so I bought the Gold membership at £39.95 for 12 months. I then realised I had the auto renewal turned on!!! I couldn't refund the card as I'd revealed the code. I could store it for a year but would have to turn auto renewal off then on etc. So....if anyone needs a membership or theirs is running out, you can have my Gold one for £30. Cheers
  18. Congrats Paul. Well done
  19. and I meant to add.....2 of our group are off the practise unclipping tonight! Hope the only thing dented was your pride
  20. Great day out even with the wind! Great to see new faces...hope to see you again. 59 miles all in for me. Knee felt ok and I even had a tailwind home after leaving the bunch at Lugton
  21. John, Basic directions from me would be finding Johnstone Railway Station on Google maps and if you leaving the station, you go straight over, first right then along over a few speed humps. Miller Street is about 2 or 3 streets along from memory...it's the signpost with most of the letters missing! If you look along it you'll see industrial units rather than houses and the clubroom is at the end. How you get there from Georgetown Road....er
  22. Hi John, That's great. We all had to start somewhere so don't worry about the pace.....unless you have a 5mph average!! Where do you live? Someone might be passing you on the way to the clubrooms for a convoy. Do you know where the clubrooms are ok?
  23. Chung, Hadn't heard of your sat nav like sense of direction! Moscow run sounds good to me. Think it would be good, roads wise, for the likes of John if he's new to it all? John.....how many miles have you done? The Moscow run is 40 odd miles. Good for everyone else?? Thoughts?
