  5. I am registered. However, I put down a slower time (under 5:30). I will not be able to do it in 4 hours. I have also considered this one http://www.sportive-kinross.co.uk/index.php but it is only the week before the Drumlanrig event so will prob go for that as postings suggest it is a good one. PC

    Sunday 19th

Looking to do 50 - 60 miles sunday morning 8:30 or 9:00 at the club. Any takers. No particular route in mind. Paul C
  11. Hi,Greig, I assume this is in relation to your loose spoke you mentioned on Sunday. I have had to replace a couple of broken spoke nipples on my winter bike (salt corrosion). To true the wheel I just used the brake blocks as a guide to see where it was out of true. Just adjusted spoke tension until gap at the block was the same all round. I had the bike upside down on the kitchen table to get easy working height. For roundness just used a lollipop stick across the fork at the frame end. Paul C
  12. Hi, Mark, Mine is there (Paul Cooper). Chip time does not take into account extended feed stops ( mmm nice sandwiches) and 2 punctures so I am only looking at my computer for actual riding time! Paul C

    Helmets?

HI, Mark, I recently bought a MET Forte as the reviews were good. However the finish is a bit shoddy where the polystyrene meets the shiny stuff. It took a while to get it to fit my big heid and had to press down the polystyrene at he back to make it more comfortable. On the positive side it only weighs 230 g. Your selection looks OK and the reviews are good. Alternatively, you can go to Evans at Braehead and have a look at some helmets (and then order online - tut tut is that acceptable?!!) Paul C
  14. My longest ever ride! Hoped to do 6 - 6.5 hrs but did in 5:54 (on my computer). Pedalled with Alan most the way - thanks for waiting on some of the climbs. The only downer was two rear wheel punctures in the space of 15 miles. Sorry did wait to see others finish but Linda had been waitng a while to pick me at Corstorphine so had to go ( another 6 miles!) I hope everyone got home OK - ScotRail were limiting the no. of bikes on the trains. Paul C
