I should have read your post properly; I did 2 x20 minutes at 85%FTP as it was on the Tacx. Was ok especially compared to the 30s squatting against the wall carry on in BRP7 Tom

I have a 2009 allez. Can't remember which model. Only cost 549 new but it really is a very good bike. it has 105 kit on it and it is hard to fault. I have other bikes for which I have paid considerably more, but I am fond of this bike as it never seems to have any problems and is a comfortable ride. Check the list price to see if it is a good deal. You can ,still find this most likely on Evans web site, as they never seem to delete anything. In short I would say it is a good buy Tom

Fabulous day to be on a bike. First run in five weeks so I felt very tired towards the end. Highlight of my day, not to mention season or indeed happier than I have been since the last of my kids was born was reaching the top of Crow Road and the Tak Me Doon before Skinny Mark. I know he was pedalling squares and still recuperating but the history books will not lie!! Coach: I had to hit 175 bpm to overtake Mark at 18mph but while it might blow my pre-season training, it still made me a very happy boy despite his obvious handicap!! Paul, I hope you made it back okay. Tom

Alan That is a pretty decent challenge! Need to look at next year's holiday calendar but I am interested. I intend to do more sportives next year as I kind of lost interest after July. Tom
