  2. great day out , great weather, great company, but i wus never whispering in slow als ear !!! sixty plus miles on undulating roads. the dulating bits were fine but like al, the 'un ' bits caused transmission probs ,[blaming my new dura ace 53/39 for that,] but even as we ploughed on playing a sweeping role for the stragglers never did i whisper anything in his lug!!..We were joined today by new man Allister [ i'm just making my way to the kettle] Carmichael, a mountain biker of some experience and pretty fit convert to road bike....showed a clean pair of cleats many times on the 'un' bits . thanks all for a superb run.. and a five star cafestop

  9. what libellous nonsense,, i only dropped the one stick !!!!, but on hearing recording of concert, sounded more like keith moon demolishing a drum kit in the early days of the who ..or was it the what sorry wont make run this sunday but will be out for for a thirty leaving from BBJ 19.00 thurs 12th. have a good one folks ......ian

  11. congrats kenny, is it worthwhile moving office...you should be looking for retirement .Sounds like i've caught this bug, could'nt get out this morn due to late finish last night, but to make matters i was giving a talk at BB battalion presentation tonight..... phew it was a close shave. one more hesitant power point thingy and it would have been curtains for whats left of my .. .cred. to matters more interesting, sounds like the bunch, with awol leader had a good run, but they are all good runs...due to jazz work, am not being available for next two suns... you could have a late cafe stop at the F and H Houston, or Butterfly and Pig ,Glasgow in that order would give you an idea of suitability for prizegiving evening.. all the best.. ian
  12. great run as usual,, peleton of six set off from club to lochwinnoch, michael, kenny 's', ken mac ,bill, john and myself. resisted cafe stop at puddle and went straight on and up john's hill. over phills folly and at great pace, onward to kilmacolm. nay stops there either onwards into west glen and burny legs. over to houston langbank rd, where , on waiting for john and michael who had double punctured, met john and rita out enjoying the pleasures of such a nice day.. john and michael failed to regroup with us and were presumed M I A (probably taken a turn down towards langbank.) On we went turning left to bishopton road turned right , where we said farewell to john and rita,,towards ingliston riding centre( highly recommended for pub lunch or meal of an evening,)through bishy and onto georgetown rd to experience the delights of well pot holed rd ....roll on the repairs.Bill pealed off at houston forty signs, and ken off at river inn. kenny's' and myself continued to johnstone where kenny collected car and i called into BBJ for head set adjustment and a cup of tea....the only cafe stop of the day... cheers all see you next week..

  22. Many thanks to Johnstone Wheelers for the use of the cyclometer on saturday at the Houston and Killellan Kirk carnival. Using Mrs Simmet's atb, which had in twenty years only been ridden once, (across the back garden grass, through the rhubarb and into the back wall,) with a shout of 'that's it never again'....the cycle was serviced , new tyres from BBJ , checked over for safety and then set up on the rig for the carnival..What fun was had by all age groups,,pedalling the required 500 metres, During the event, copies of the Johnstone Jets fliers were handed out to potential club members. Some quite competitive times were posted for each of the age groups.. with the eventual winners receiving a £5.00 gift voucher.
