  1. Davie, I should be good for this, will confirm for sure on Saturday if that alright? Cheers Chung
  2. The good folks over at WeightWeenie insist I put one of these on the Arabesque: https://www.merlincycles.com/san-marco-regale-evo-carbon-road-saddle-2017-101295.html Which would match, however my back side is not big enough, so have ordered a Brooks Cambium C13 instead: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/brooks-england-cambium-c13-saddle/?lang=en&curr=GBP&dest=1&sku=5360734325&kpid=5360734325&utm_source=google&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping+-+All+Products&utm_medium=base&utm_content=mckv|ss0HRYFi5_dm|mcrid|295292317327|mkw||mmt||mrd|5360734325uk|mslid||&mkwid=ss0HRYFi5_dm&pcrid=295292317327&prd=5360734325uk&pgrid=58852352866&ptaid=pla-586295263117&gclid=CjwKCAiAgrfhBRA3EiwAnfF4tvFoK0UcGMoDRqveyxFmmL5D7LuhGB8pF5BPA583S0Uwz66Ndz2yKhoCPQYQAvD_BwE Hopefully it’ll work for me!
  3. Billy, This is my Chorus bottom bracket - as far as I can see, there’s 3 sealed bearings along that axle & a sort of C-clip at the end which secures then in place. As I said, I’ve no experience on these before but it does seem like individual parts can be replaced (however sourcing it could be a different story though) ....... will need to look into that in detail! Cor ........ look at those polish chrome :-)
  4. Yes, Billy, everything comes apart, I’ve not used this before, it’s my first Campag square taper BB, but it looks very serviceable ......... like all Campag stuff. I’ll take a picture of it when I get home, I’m in Dundee at the moment :-) .......... visiting the V&A design museum ........ & just came across an Endura Moviestar Skinsuit on display :-) ...... cutting edge design apparently!
  5. Billy, The BB on this frame is Italian thread & when installing threaded BB cups, I always apply antiseize to minimise that risk, plus periodic maintenance would help to prevent that too! Good luck in your search!
  6. Billy, it's second hand from Ebay, though the seller was from sunny Greenock :-) It's an Arabesque, which is a "variant" of the original Master. The Arabesque was in production briefly for 2 years back in the early 80's as a more fancier version of the Master with more ornate lug works. But it didn't sell very well so was dropped but the Master still remains in production even to this day, The frame that I have is a limited reintroduction of this frame when (as Colnago PR story goes) they "found" a big box of old Arabesque lugs in the depths of the Colnago factory, so decided to build some more of this iconic frame. It's limited in numbers & the tubes are the same ones used in modern day Masters, which instead of the original round Columbus tubes are now Deda tubes, but like the current Master's the tubes are "crimped" or profiled for that extra stiffness. The old style Record chain set I have chosen is square taper, which means it's old school square taper cartridge bearings only, which in my opinion is much better than modern one, as it's properly built & much better weather seals. The only down side is the weight obviously! Choosing to buy a Master is easy, the difficult part is deciding on which colour scheme to go for :-)
  7. Absolutely George, who doesn't like a bit of chrome on their road bike :-)
  8. Cheers Paul & thanks guys! I hope I’ll enjoy riding it as much as sourcing the parts & building it up! Best wishes for the New Year fellow Wheelers!
  9. It's auld school steel & I'll let the picture do the talking :-) Cheers

  12. That sounds ideal, can't commit for sure just now but will confirm on the eve of the eve of the eve ........... as in tomorrow :-) Cheers
  13. Al, not even that genius would be any help Think it needs new bearings ......... or a new bike! Good job I made it home without too much problem.
  14. Well, that didn’t went well for me today :-0 Punctured just coming out of Bishopton on the back roads towards Gleddoch House, also a not so nice grinding noise coming from the free hub - horrible! Think I need a new bike :-) Decided to call it a day & let the Bunch carry on without me, didn’t want to be stuck somewhere far without a functioning back wheel Came back early for lunch at home instead! Hope you guys have better luck than me & enjoyed the BB! cheers
  15. Sorry folks, running late again! Will not be able to make to clubroom in time :-/ Get youse at Red Smiddy! thanks
  16. Hi Folks, How about a wee jaunt to Sunny Largs this Sunday via Loch Thom & back up the road over the Haylie? Obviously cafe stop at the BB & hopefully much quicker food service :-) Again company welcome & 9.30am start at the club room. Should be back to base by 2-ish, eh! But still I will have my lights just in case :-) Cheers Chung
  17. Destination sunny Kilcreggan - bunch of 10 riders - Alan (Hendry), Alex, Colin Sale, Colin McPhee, Eric, Glen, Jaki, Iain Carvil/McGinty & myself made steady progress all the way to Helensburgh, where upon Colin M turned back to play in a gig later on the afternoon. We were joined part way in Helensburgh by 2 of Glen's friends who also are heading to Flanders next April, getting some km in their legs no doubt & introducing themselves to some of us Flanders bound Wheelers too! What was meant to be a quick cafe stop in Kilcreggan turned out to be anything but, the service was good but it was sloooooooooooow! A welcome tail wind on the way back up the road, but some mad drivers about which wasn't expected this time of the week but still it didn't spoil the run in good weather for December & good wheels to follow all day! Kudos to Jaki who haven't been on a bike since early October, she dug in & made it all the way round, chapeau! Probably a shorter route next Sunday ........... it was dark by the time I rocked up my front door :-/ Thanks again for the company & wheels today Cheers Chung
  18. Sorry, I’m running late can’t make it to clubroom in time so will meet at the Bridge! Thanks Chung
  19. One more on board - Scott Johnstone
  20. Good shout, Northside Kilcreggan it is then! :-) Iain & others - 9.30am start & Bridge for 10.10-ish ............ Cheers
  21. Hi All, Current weather forecast for this Sunday is meant to be "sunny", so how about a trip over the river or do we stay on this side of the Clyde? Can see who turns up then decide or if anyone have any route suggestion? Fire away ........ I'm easy, I just want to pedal :-) Company welcome as always! Cheers Chung
  22. Alex McLean (AJM) being the latest JW to sign up for the Ronde 2019 ........... :-)
  23. Thought you couldn’t shift into the 25 because of your short chain? In that case, your big softie :-)
