  1. Thanks for that Scott I still have the entry money from last night's TT so once I've sorted out my train fare I'll put the rest behind the bar for shandies and pineapple breezers Kenny
  2. Cool, showery and windy conditions welcomed the riders for the Club 10 Championship at Westferry tonight. Alan Holmes and Dave Leonard were again showing some good form with less than 15s seperating them on the night but it was defending champion, George Hamilton, who once retained his title with a storming ride Katrina made it a double for the fast couple by taking the Lady's Title 1st George Hamilton 20m 45s 2nd Dave Leonard 21m 40s 3rd Alan Holmes 21m 54s 1st Lady Katrina Hair 22m 53s The full times are as follows: Mike Ferguson 27m 27s Kenny Steele DNF (mechanicals) Jim Daly 24m 36s Stephen Hickey 25m 44s Lars 23m 58s Campbell Crombie 24m 04s Ewan Mackay 23m 55s Katrina Hair 22m 53s Darryl Gunson 22m 41s Dave Leonard 21m 40s Alan Holmes 21m 54s George Hamilton 20m 45s Thanks go to Time Trial Timekeeping Debutant, Mr Donald Scally for his services with the watch Martin Mulholland appeared at the start to see everyone off but couldn't be convinced to ride (saving himself for the Curry Sportif on Friday ??) and may last have been seen repairing a puncture at Finlayston on his way home League 10 commences next week (Tuesday 30th at Westferry) Cheers, Kenny
  3. Any seats going spare at the curry event of the summer? Can someone also confirm if it is Friday night or Saturday night
  4. The Erskine Century Ride (aka Harry's Hunner) will take place on Sunday 6th August 2006 with a 9am start. This event raised in the region of £400 for the Erskine Hospital last year. Leaving from Erskine the run will cross the Erskine Bridge, join the A82 through Dumbarton, along the banks of Loch Lomond to Tarbet before crossing over to Arrochar. The route then takes in the drag over The Rest And Be Thankful before turning off for St Catherines, Strachur, Loch Eck, Dunoon and a well-earned stop at Innellan. Retracing the route back to Hunters Quay, board the Western Ferry for the crossing to Gourock and then onto the home straight, through Greenock, Port Glasgow, Langbank and Bishopton to Erskine. 100 miles in all !!!! (or 91 if you head straight for the ferry instead of Innellan) Entry will be £8 with all 'profits' going to Erskine Hospital. Tea and coffee will be available at the start with reasonably priced snacks and / or BBQ (weather permitting) from 4.30pm ‘til 6.30pm to raise further funds at the finish. Order form at start for food. Contact Kenny Steele on 07879 890985 or by e-mail at [email protected] for more details. Please post below if you intend riding this event

    Claire & Dave's News

Fantastic news Congratulations to the both of you. Kenny
  6. Demonstrating amazing foresight, those that be, in setting out the confined calendar, anticipated the 2 week closure of the Georgetown Road and listed the first League 10 event at Westferry just in time for next Thursday Unfortunately yours truly has a lack of the aforementioned foresight and has managed to arrange a solo car drive from Birmingham to Erskine on the same evening The National 10 TT is on the same course at the end of May so here's the ideal opportunity to get acquainted with the course. Any volunteers for time-keeping please post here
  7. Here is a link for Gateside. The village hall is opposite the pub (Gateside Inn) and there is a small car park here and I would think space to park on the main road outside the pub also. http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&GridE=-4.60870&GridN=55.74870&lon=-4.60870&lat=55.74870&place=Gateside,North+Ayrshire&db=freegaz&scale=100000&search_result=Gateside%2CNorth%20Ayrshire&lang=&db=freegaz&keepicon=true The start is on the first small road on the right hand side heading east. There is a big whisky bond sign at the junction. The course is a 3 sided loop starting at the top left hand corner on the attached map heading SE along Sharon St, turn left along A736 Lochlibo Rd (Irvine - Barrhead Road), past Tracey's yard and turn left onto B777 at the Paraffin Lamp. Turn back into Sharon St again at Whisky Bond Sign and do it all again and again and again http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=237500.038610969&Y=652500.826281322&width=500&height=300&gride=236360.038610969&gridn=653674.826281322&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=50000&right.x=2&right.y=94

If you can put up with a pizza faced spotty Burger King reject teenage mutant from the planet Zorg grunting at you and shrugging his shoulders as he tries to flog you something that's highly overpriced that he doesn't have a scooby-doo about, then head over to Evans new shop at Braehead! 15. The way things are going it's likely to be 50 left handed mitts, to suit riders with 3 fingers, in a nice shade of green to suit the new club colours that we'll get a chance to see if the delivery does turn up. I'm looking on the brights side . Look how much weight I'll lose riding around in my winter jacket in midsummer
  16. The basis of the article can be found under the 'Press Releases' section or follow the link below http://www.johnstone-wheelers.co.uk/sub_sections.php?id=1082
  17. Anybody planning on training at the clubrooms on Thursday night? Anyone not been down to check out the new equipment yet? Not sure if I'm going to make it down myself but can I ask anyone who is planning on going down that they take along their club jersey if possible. You never know who might be skulking around with a camera Of course the vain amongst you might want to give Paris Hair a wee call to see if they have any free appointments first Kenny
  18. Stephen, The article linked in your post was a separate full pager from a few weks ago which was sent to the PDE from outwith the club. The article from today is not online (yet?). I'll try and get a link or an electronic copy Kenny
