  1. Watching Chris Hoy in Commonwealth / Olympic / Worlds kilo rides. Alas I may never shout at the TV again since the kilo was added to the list of banned substances. I do have rather a habit of yelling TALENTLESS P**CKS !!!!! whenever Justin & Colin whatever there names are grace the screen. I was in the newsagents at the airport one Monday morning when they were there. The total woopsie one with the dark hair was yelling across the crowded shop at the other one about a fantastic pair of curtains (or something) he'd seen in a magazine. A wee boy about 9 or 10 yelled back at him "SHUT IT YA F4NNY"!!! Whole shop was in total uproar and woopsie face had a big riddy.
  2. Hi Kenny, Don't recall the senior bronze being 100 miles - I thought it was 75 miles in 8 hours? I only ever managed the 100 in under 6 hours once, and that was in the company of Cormac McGlone and John Cruickshanks who were both training for the 12hr that year. maybe 1986 or 1987? Are the long events still planned as early-ish season events, or mid summer? I always thought that only 3 events was a bit low and it would have been good to maybe include a pursuit time or something similar for a bit of variety
  3. Would that be the same Martin who couldn't bite his own lip and was found upside down behind behind the speakers wearing a pink spangly cowgirl costume singing "I'm merlin the happy pixie" at about 1am this morning at the end of the Braveheart do? Or is it likely that we're talking about a different Martin altogether ??? Marco? Kenny? Dougie de Cervelo? Would any of you like to present the case for the defence, or is a plea change to "very, very guilty" about to be submitted?
  4. As well as supporting a fantastic cause troops, it's your chance to be famous. the ride is being covered by Cycling.TV and a photographer from Cycling Weekly as well as Braveheart staff photographers. If you're very lucky - you might get interviewed by...................... ME! before the event. Come along and say hello to Uncle Hertz. Don't be scared now
  5. No Kenny, just the one tie. Guess I was only partially full of pi5h then!
  6. Winner's speed = 13.23mph. Record speed = 16.48mph. Kenny - Isn't record held jointly between Dud and Grambo? Both were equal on the tenths of a second, but Grambo faster on the hundredths. Both agreed on the day that it's not possible to manually time to 1/100th of a second, but Dud did volunteer to accept 2nd place that year if I recall? On the other hand - maybe I'm full of wind and pi5h (as usual )?
  7. Sorry to those I had to pull out at the pits - go a wee bit faster next year guys!
  8. I may turn up in disguise Kenny Will there be any drug testing involved?
  9. Kenny, Can I book a room space please? GG
  10. Fujitsu 17" colour monitor Fujitsu PC speakers Roll of chicken wire 8m x 1m New owner collects from Renfrew. Contact me if interested ??
  11. Hi Iain, It's Graeme Obree (spelling). If this is the same interview that I heard earlier in the year - then it's a cracker. It's very motivational and a must for anyone who may be suffering from any kind of depression, or even just a bit fed up or scunnered in general.
  12. Saturdau 7th July Starts outside my bedroom window which overlooks Greenwich Park
  13. I'm pretty sure I saw David Wilkie at the Airport last week??
  14. I've just saved £154 per year by switching companies online. Try this link and see how you get on? Biggest discount if paying a fixed monthly direct debit. You'll need to know your annual consumption, so take your own gas and leccy readings and call your present supplier first to get your consumption figures in units / kwh. www.uswitch.com I have no connection with this company blah blah blah etc. I just hate seeing anybody getting ripped off!
  15. Gordon. I grew up with Gordon in Johnstone Castle. We went to the same schools and I knew his brother Brian, and his mum and late dad too. He was slightly older than me and would have been around 42. Gordon was one of those guys who always had a smile on his face. Very, very sad day. Tommy I took over from Tommy as WOSCA secretary when he retired aged 90! Graham Herd says that Tommy was the Glasgow RC secretary for over forty years. He wasa child during the first world war, and a man of 31 when the second one started. Just imagine how much life has changed in that time?
  16. A friend has broken the screen on her LG U880 flip phone and wants to be able to download all the info stored on the phone (mainly photos) to her sim card. Without a screen, that's going to be difficult. Can anyone with the same phone assist in posting (or email me)step by step instructions on how to do this please? Many thanks in advance.
  17. Mick, I'd try contacting Steve McGinty through the Braveheart site? Andy McGhee is registered there too, but no e-contact info.
  18. Still very hard to believe that nobody gives a monkeys about this?
  19. Well................. I guess that's a big fat "NO" then.........................?
  20. I was thinking along the lines of current race times Iain, Example - Ladies 10ml TT = Katrina - 21:46 (?) 2006 etc etc I'm curious to see if any youths have ever beaten the 10 and 25 times set by Iain Campbell in 1982? I think I may have the junior 25 with a 58:31 in 1985? Stewart Duff would almost certainly have the mens 50, and Paul Tiggerdine the 100, 12hr should still be Willie Gibb from 1987? Kenny? Did Stewart do anything longer? I'd doubt it because if his back problems?
  21. Did anyone ever collate an accurate list of these? I recall something about this earlier in The Bunch (or it's predecessor?) but don't know what the outcome was? Ladies records should be easier, but the longer distance men's ones could go back a wee bit? Teams too.............
  22. Easily fixed Kenny. The chances are that your front mech could be sitting a little bit high? Instead of coming into contact directly with your chain at the chainwheel and shifting it swiftly across, you're hitting the chain further back, so have less control over it's movement. Move the front mech until the outer cage is directly over your outer chainring, and then adjust until there is a 2 or 3mm gap between them. Tighten the front mech fixing bolts remembering to keep the outer cage parallel with the ring and then adjust your screws and cables. Limit the cage so that it is comfortable when in your smallest cog, but not clashing with the crank. Similarly when on the inner ring, the biggest cog should be able to be used without any chain rub.
  23. Remember to take plenty bandages with you when you go to the Last Post. It's where winos go when the rain stops them drinking in the park.
