  10. Ramsay Not sure if they are still about but there were 3 club bikes available for loan /trial. Think they were different sizes so should be one that fits. It was a few years ago so they may have been retired / laid to rest by now.
  11. Looks like we have enough players I'm away the next 2 weekends so suggest first game on Friday 6th May - 6.30 at lochwinnoch Post here if you can make it. ps anyone got a contact for Martin H? - think he still has some of the bikes.
  12. Al Some info from my mate its a ridgeback at2 trailer from 2008. there are quite a few scuffs on the frame but the thing is bomb proof, its very rugged and very stable. tyres and wheels are in good order, and the cabin has all the bits a pieces it came with. there's loads of room for luggage as well as 2 kids. the new model is here: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/adv ... r-ec003802, i'm struggling to see the difference between the new one and ours - probably just the scratches and missing paint. unfortunately, we paid full price for this, but would be very happy with £100. he is away till May and wont be in the west till the 10th - not sure if you need one sooner. cheers
  13. Hi Alan My mate just asked me if I knew anyone looking for a trailer. No idea of the spec or price but it has only been used twice - first time to wails and screams, second time just to make sure. I'll get details for you. cheers
  14. Rusty - good to hear you and the old timer are ready to play, I'll try and contact Pat and Fergus and will post some dates later. Janzza - how small are you looking for? Alan

    Summer Games

Does anyone still read this forum? Only one way to find out I suppose. After a long winter break the light nights are here again Anyone want to revive Polo? All we need are some players and a pitch - Lochwinnoch? Alan - yes Pat - ? Rusty - ? Alasdair - ? Ian L - ? Fergus - ? Tony - ? Martin - ? James - ? Anyone else daft enough to try? We have some spare bikes and mallets, all you need to bring is a good sense of humour and an ability to fall off on the soft grass
  16. do it. There is nothing quite like waking up feeling a smooth shaved leg. The big disappointment is when you realise its your own. never tried the cream - only ever shaved, not too may cuts but I did block the bath and tried to blame others
  17. I hope to be out next week and may join you. Not sure I'm ready for your pace yet so may will be mostly hanging on to wheels and may bail out somewhere along the route. cheers

    Arran Sunday 20th

Another cracking day out. A smaller group opted for the more traditional round the coast route - Alan Y, James, FerenezeJohn, Johnathan and Willie set off southwards from the ferry. On the first climb some began to realise that they may have underestimated the temperature so a quick regroup after shedding some layers at the top. Fast descent into Lamlash where we left Willie who wasn't feeling too good. Onwards to Whiting Bay and another good descent. We then took the low road down to Kildonan which proved to be wet, oily covered in gravel and the down fall for John who parted company with his bike on a downhill hairpin – no real damage other than to his jacket and a bruised elbow. On round the coast with James and Johnathan leading on most of the hills and Alan catching them on the down hill bits. Passes the Flanders group around Catacol. Some soup and coffee in Lochranza – only thing missing was Simon on guitar. If it could fall off Alan’s bike it did – tubes, allen keys, saddlebag, light etc etc etc. That only left the last climb of the day with probably the worst road surface on the descent. Back on the flat we were joined by Paul who been with the Flanders group, James announced he need a spell so Alan and Paul led the group round the coast till Paul declared his legs spent. Alan continued at the front with Johnathan till it came to the sprint – a fully revived Paul and James (they had been sitting in for some time) took off with Paul celebrating too early and James taking it on the line. A fine day out with mostly good weather.

    Arran Sunday 20th

I hope to join you on Sunday - one of my favourite rides Got a busy week and working on Sat so might be a bit knackered (also need to get a pass for Sunday which could be difficult as I'm away all week) I'll confirm on Sat but will be taking car down to ferry if anyone wants a lift there / back. Can take up to 3 or 4 with bikes - Mul has already pre booked a space on way back. cheers
  20. HI Colin No problem - I'm away till sunday so will sort out when I get back. I'm planning on doing the Sunday Arran trip if you are around. cheers
  21. hi Colin Both sets still available. cheers
  22. 9:30 for me too. I'll bring the soup too. A
  23. I have 2 sets of wheels that i no longer need and I have been told to clear some space in the garage - apparently there should be room for horse rugs, bridle and other bits of tack - who would have thought it? Mavic MA2 rims with 36 spokes on miche hubs (no idea which model complete with a 7 speed shimano block (the old screw on type) 12x23 these were bought for a bike that was hardly ever used so have less then 300 miles on them. A good few years old but run as smooth and true as the day Alistair Gow build them. A bit dirty but will clean up nicely £40 Campag Omega V rims on Mavic 501 hubs - 36 spoke complete with 7 speed campag block - again the old screw on type - 12 x21 (i must have been fitter when I bought this one) These have been used but still run true and smooth - also built by Alistair Gow Still dirty but a good clean will; bring them up nice. £40
