Should be a good bunch going round so you can sit in ! Its not all carnage at this time of year so dont be afraid if you think its all 30mph stuff cause it aint!" Cheers, Stevie B>

Im getting a flight to Geneva from Newcastle as there are no direct flights from Scotland anymore. Easy jet do it from newcastle for £50 return. Stevie B>
  8. Hi all, For anyone viewing this website there is a Regular Saturday morning coastal training run departing from Renfrew Toilets @ approx 10:30. Route : Renfrew - George tn rd - Houston Cycle path - Glengarnock - Climb out of Kilbirnie - Down the Healie Brae - Kilwinning - Back in mainland via the Rnad circuit and down the Bowfield and SPrint for the 30MPH sign Good run and on quiet rd's. Total distance Renfrew - Kilwinning and back approx 80 miles. See you then Stevie B>
  9. Yeah a bit windy ..... Myself and Scott Robertson headed down. See you all next tuesday if your are up for it. Cheers, Stevie B>
  10. Hi Stephen, Lighting is good enough so no real need for a front light. I would use a small rear light !! If your at the front taking spells it might be useful to have one of those small led bright lights - i think Paul Mcskimming has got 1 - it will allow on comning motorists to see you if you are spelling about at the Junction part of the circuit. See you the night Stevie
  11. Hi all, Planning heading down to Glengarnock if the weather is not as bad as previous nights. Dont mind the rain - certainly cant stand Gails! Leaving Johnstone 18:20 from Millbrae traffic lights at the bike Track entrance. Hope to see you there for a an hours worth - Starting at 7pm till 8pm. Cheers, Stevie B>
  12. Hi Mick , I think its the only way to show our respect as Fellow cyclists. This weekend i will be wearing my Black Armband! Anybody Joining ? Stevie
  13. Yes Dougie , I agree also - Normally i have a wee circuit i do en route back from work. However due to the high winds i cut the run short and headed straight home! Last time i used the 39 x 27 was up alpw d'huez - did not think i was ever going to use it down the George tn! This morning was superb 55x11 tail wind - S
  14. Ironman No it wasnt hard just uncomfortable but prefer it to the ice conditions. My route on the way back takes me just under an hour to get back home but being slowed down by the wind it took much longer. Better get used to it as im sure its going to be hanging about for quite sometime. Stevie B>
  15. Riding in conditions like this evening is enough to put you aff the bike for life. Will give tomorrow evenings Glengarnock session a miss and take a rest day. Weather doesnt look good for tomorrow night either Will try for Thursday night. Cheers, Stevie B>
  16. Ho you Wee man watch oot!!! yer geein away ma training secrets!!! Awright there Euan, Yes it was a superb day out and the pace was selected for the best for the entire bunch. Kept well together and all rode sensible. Will be out for the next few saturday doing this run. If anybody from the jwcc/any club would be interested doing please come along. Dont be put off by the comments that its fast etc - the pace is steady and we regroup at all times to keep the group together. Route - Meet at Renfrew Toilets then head down the George tn rd onto the cycle track at Crosslee. Make your way down to glengarnock where we then go onto the main road for Largs. Between Kilbirnie and Largs is the 1st climb of the day - after that you drop down the healie brae and turn left at the bottom following the "Flat" main road all the way to Kilwinning. Obviously there are different fitness levels - the spells are shared sensible and the less fitter guys can take shorter turns at the front. Once at Kilwinning its a left turn back in mainland passing by the Rnad circuit then down the Bowfield. we then regroup at the bottom and start a habble to the 30mph sign. Again its optional if your up for it. Fomr my part it was great training - certainly quite easy riding in a bunch doing that distance rather than doing these type of runs on your own Euan and some of his mates who was out too are members of the mountain bike club. If you want a show on how to Spin the pedals armstrong style then this is your chance! Everywhere these guys went they kep the revs at a minimum rate of 110! This route for me is a bit better as your mostly on quiet roads. See you all next week if you are out Stevie >B.
  17. Superb Report Kat !!! Great to hear everyone is doing great and that evan and James are also getting in results. All the best, Stevie >b
  18. Hi all, Tomorrow there are some choices of training run's. 1 of them is the Anniesland bunch meetin over the erskine bridge..... Another is a coastal Run over to Kilwinning with blackbob and Les muir etc... Leaving renfrew toilets 1030. I will be going with blackbob's run as its pretty flat and very fast. Remember these runs are not for the fainthearted Cheers, Stevie B>
  19. Only myself and Paul Mcdonald did a 15+ lap from 7pm onwards. Quite good to get out again get the old spinning put to justice. Nae luck jim with your bike etc hopefully next tuesday you can meet me at 18:20 and we will both ride over. if you leavev then it will get you to Glengarnock for exactly 7pm. - steady ride off course. See you all next week Stevie B>>
