2023 Subscriptions George Posted August 29, 2015 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 29, 2015 Anyone done the Garmin upgrade that lets you view live Strava? I believe it works on a 510 if you plug it into Garmin Connect & upgrade to Strava Premium?
2023 Subscriptions PaulL Posted August 29, 2015 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 29, 2015 Yes, pretty cool. You need to install Garmin connect, and activate Strava. From then on any starred segments on Strava show up on your rides. (sync your Garmin after selecting new segments in Strava) George
2023 Subscriptions George Posted September 4, 2015 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 4, 2015 Can't get it to work-keep getting error messages on Garmin Express when trying to upload segments. blast!
KennyS
Is this the software that they're including in the new Garmin 520 with the promised upgrade for the 510 as well?
2023 Subscriptions George Posted September 4, 2015 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 4, 2015 Kenny, yes. I've uploaded the firmware(?) to the 510. It now has "segments" as part of the screen display. I've only managed to upload one segment tho & keep getting error messages on Garmin Express when I try to sync it. From reading the Garmin forums I am not alone in this.
Big Al
Have you got starred segments in your Strava account? If you've got between 1 and 100 segments it will upload these to your Garmin, if you've got more than 100, as I did, it crashes the Garmin. I had to do a factory reset and relink to starva once I had reduced my starred segments to 95.
2023 Subscriptions George Posted September 5, 2015 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 5, 2015 Way less than 100. My Garmin power meter has packed up AGAIN too. Never buying Garmin again. The power meter has been hit & miss-this is a warranty replacement too.
