Peter Abraham
Maybe they will finally resurface some of these roads. Or is that asking too much? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neil Macdougall
I read in The Herald today that it's already being nicknamed "The Hell of the North-West2 in honour of Paris-Roubaix and it's equally poor stretches of road surface I tried to get the 30th of August off but since my boss is onn Holiday I can't get time off for it which is pretty poor. Also according to The Herald website there's going to be a Crit in George Square the day before and the Pedal for Scotland Charity Ride through to Edinburgh is on Sunday 28th which starts the build up to the race start. Pretty much gives something for all levels of cyclists. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neil Macdougall
Hi Stephen. I've just read that on the Pedal for Scotland website. Headwind all the way from Edinburgh plus getting up at some ungodly hour to get through to there for the start. Still makes it easier getting home after the event ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Craig
Etape du tour of Scotland would be fantastic - they get 1500 entrants in the Wicklow 200 each year, if this could be organised with partial road closures and good marshalling it would be a huge event for Scottish cycling. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
balamory
Count at least one from Tobermory in, and one from the Crook of Devon. I am coming down for the ride on the Sunday and am looking for something to do on the Monday during the day. This would put in my day perfectly. mossy
There is a wonderfull choice of traffic free routes for a ride starting and finishing at Castle Douglas ( the stage 1 finish) . But would there be enough people to take part on a monday? (It is a Bank holiday in Englandshire). The loop from and back to Newton stewart used in the girvan stage is one of the best bike rides you will find, this passes near to CD , the route of the Moniaive wild hills race could be addede on to make a long ride. so there you have a challenging route with a short option . BTW, CD has a great cooncil camp site by the Loch ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all your computer needs, spares & repairs - PC Express, Love Street, Paisley 0141-561-0323 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
