Well another glorious Sunday and a dozen laughing group members set off from the clubrooms. In attendance were :- Dennis , Martin M , Martin K, Neil ,George& kat, Stevie B, Andy Mac, Dave, Jim, Tony , and Kenny Mac. Out the Beith road to Howwood and a quick turn along track to scare a few dogs before leaving track at Lochwinnoch ( this involved various ways to leave the track - much to the confusion of dog walkers :-? )

The climbs over the back road to Kilbirnie split the peloton on each lift with regroupments at summits. Big Dave decided to indulge in some tractor slipstreaming and misheard ( aye right  ) Kenny macs instruction to wait at summit. Missing the turn off he headed downhill into Kilbirnie. Stevie B offered to chase and bring him back up to cut off  . Meantime bunch headed off making them chase  fortunately for them but not for George a rear wheel puncture meant they didnt have to chase for long ;-)

Down through Kilbirnie and a lap of Lochshore brought a rear puncture for Dave ( big man had to get assistance from Kenny mac to remove tyre - and he looks such a strong big guy too  )

back on the road the wall at Glengarnock brought an attack from Stevie B countered quickly by Jim, in its wake a major plane crash wound up the hill  At start of RNAD circuit Kenny Mac, and Martin M who were on family time constraints heade in assisted by Andy Mac. Leaving peloton to head down into deepest Ayrshire Oh ya dancer !

The daring trio rode home at level 6 and a half and an exhausted groupetto were glad to reach johnstone and home inside alloted time curfew ;-)

Further report from rest of peloton to follow shortly ;-)

Yeah Kenny we headed straight on to the next town.

we then cut off at beith where Kat and George headed back to Paisley area.

Once we cut by Beith we then made our ways to Lochwinnoch.

Everyone joined together and made our way up the col de john followed by the col de telegraph and the last prime into howwood.New member Jim (trains with Mark Atkinson on a saturday  ) took each climb at 120 revs with ease.(this mans doing next years ETAPE- hard stuff this time over 4 pyranees climbs 177KM)

Very enjoyable day out with great weather , a good 3.5hrs out on the bike well done folks.

Well that's a log story short but please add some more if were out....

Steve B.

My run was a wee bit different :-(

I pulled my foot out of the pedals going up teh really steep bit of the climb towards Kilbirnie  Couldn't get going again so had to walk up the hill

When I got down to Kilbirnie I couldn't see the rest of the peloton and got stuck at the roadworks :rockets

Headed round to the Wall at Glengarnock - bypassing Lochshore

cut across to the RNAD and over to Barmill before heading back down towards Barrhead

Funny how a tailwind makes you feel like you're going really well
