Hi there,

Welcome along! No need to rush out and buy a road bike some slick tyres or your MTB will serve you well until you are sure you want to go to the expense of a new bike!

Why not try out with the 30 milers, you'll be made to feel more than welcome!

We have a hill-climb this Thursday just along the road at Howood, you will find details at the 'Confined events calendar' section, come along and give it a go!

Thanks Kenny

I would love to come along thursday but I won´t be able to attend.

I´m looking to buy a new bike anyway but this time specifically for road use, however I have no clue about which to get. Are women´s bikes worth the expense (they are expensive) or does it really make a difference by getting a unisex bike?

I may qualify for the ride to work scheme, every little helps Oh ya dancer !

If you qualify for CTW then that's excellent. As you say every little helps. Definitely go for a women's specific design, unfortunately I cant recommend a particular bike but any of the major manufacturers bikes will be more than adequate. Best go to a reputable bike shop, one that will set you up for fit and not take advantage of you. For good service, Evans, and particularly Dales are very good at this kind of thing, helping you choose the best bike for your personal requirements.

Good luck.
