2023 Subscriptions martin Posted June 12, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted June 12, 2011 More good news from the storming yellow and blue weekend, as a 5.00am alarm call on Saturday ended up well worth it. An early morning rush down the M6 to the Mancs velodrome for the final round of the Northern Omnium series. A 9.30 sign on and a full card of track racing (95 racers, 6 hours) ended in 5th place for Danny M at youth C and 14th place for Lewis M at youth B. The racing was fierce all day long, and none more so than that between Danny and his buddy / training partner / rival Calum Shackley of the Glasgow Riderz. A great keirin left them tied in 5th place, with Danny edging it by less than half a second in the final 500m TT to claim 5th outright. If i've got it right it means Danny is 4th equal after the Northern series and qualifies for the national finals (back at Mancs) on August 14th (excuse the proud dad bit ) along with Calum, Rhona Callander of the Wallace Warriors and Joe Nally of the Carnegie Cyclones.
