Colin McPhee
Hi I was wondering if anyone else in the club is signed up to do this event as I'm training for it at the moment. It includes a climb of the dukes pass and the crow from lennoxtown and would be good if any others from the club fancied doing it as a small bunch Colin
2023 Subscriptions duncan thomson Posted April 29, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 29, 2011 Colin, I did this last year and it was good fun. Fast start over flat Stirlingshire plains before rolling into bottom of Dukes Pass, great ride round Loch Katerine and fast skoot down into Aberfoyle. They put on some really good food at a hotel on edge of aberfoyle. good face stuff but don't expect to fly along afterwards. The Crow road was hard with a full belly although, I guess you could eat less duncan

DaveP
Colin, Myself and Al did it last year, and we are in this year as well. It will be good to head round together and I am sure that Al will lets us beat him, just like last year when I beat him, only because Al took a wrong turn in Stirling. GreigS
I was thinking of doing this is it as tough as drumlanrig ? Greig
Colin McPhee
Not sure greig as haven't done drumlanrig Dave has done both so he will have The lowdown on that one Colin
DaveP
I would say the course is not as hard as Drumlanrig, if you are doing the 100km, then the only nasty bit is the Crow road, but if you are doing the 100miles, then you have the Dukes pass and the Crow road. But you can get round the Drumlanrig course yesterday, so you will get round just about anything. Dave

DaveP
Colin, I am heading up with Al, hoping to register around 7, and starting early, are you starting early? Got my new bike, it certainly helped me last week when I was climbing Galiber and Alp D'Heuz. Dave
Colin McPhee
I will be aiming to get there for about 8 to sign on. 7 means leaving around 6 so I would rather leave at about 7 to get there for 8 but if you guys want to sign on at 7 then I'll go along with that. My mobile is 07928788246 so we can hool up at the start. Cheers Colin
