james-maclaren Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 Hi All, Just received the following email: "It is with regret that following discussions with SCX and Scottish Cycling we have taken the decision to cancel Sunday's Cyclocross Championships at Irvine due to the extreme weather conditions affecting the bulk of Scotland. Ironically Ayrshire is about the only place with no road closures etc , and the course is excellent fun in the show, but obviously the rest of the country is suffering, and travel would not have been safe. Further information relating to the cancellation, and an official statement will be posted on www.scottishcycling.org.uk as soon as possible. Hopefully see you all on Mull next weekend. (Specially looking out my window at the blizzard just now). West of Scotland cross country (foot race) was also supposed to be in Irvine this weekend - they cancelled that yesterday, citing dangerous driving conditions for competitors and spectators. But when will they choose for the new date? 11/12th is the Mull weekend, so that leaves Sunday 19th, 26th if it's going to happen this year.
